He is the only candidate in the race that understands that for Gen-zâs like me, our political future is dependent on our response to the technological revolution and the climate crisis. The other day I went to walk my dog and I put on my heavy coat, expecting bitter temperatures in the middle of December and it was 65 degrees out. [We're in a crisis. That's why I'm asking you to chip in today and join Dave's campaign.]( Dave Harden understands the implications of the climate crisis for my generation and beyond. He sees that, for society to survive, we need comprehensive climate legislation. This legislation will hinge on the expansion of the energy sector, moving away from fossil fuels and carbon emissions, in turn creating a whole host of jobs. This will build into his vision for the next generation economy, one that operates from the intersection of technology, energy, and healthcare. Dave has a vision, he is an experienced leader, and he can build coalitions. But the swamp wants to keep him out. The Republican incumbent is a swamp creature at heart. He votes in lockstep with his cohort, fearing retribution from his political allies. He lives in constant fear of the fact that Maryland voters might find out that he is a weak-willed fraud whose goal is to upend the democratic process. He is not a legislator; he is a dissenter: he was elected not because he stood for something but because he stood against Obama. This year he voted against certifying the election results because he was scared that he would lose any power in the political process once his man was out of office. To the left, we have a democratic challenger who is a career politician. She has earned the endorsements of the democratic establishment because they fear a true leader like Dave who can upend the political machine.
