JoAnna is an internationally recognized dance educator with an impressive background in distinguished schools such as Juilliard, Alvin Ailey, and Princeton, and her passion for interspecies collaboration led her to develop her distinctive company, The Equus Projects. This impressive work between dancers and horses has toured all over the USA and fueled her book, a captivating dissertation entitled, “Physical Listening”.  “It is a huge honor to be included in this inaugural HHHL Conference. Linda Parelli has been a mentor to The Equus Projects since 2005, when our first team of dancers came down to Ocala for our first coaching session with horses. The Equus dancers have continued to train regularly in Natural Horsemanship with our central focus on partnership and creating connection with our equine partners.” - JOANNA MENDL SHAW Tony Vaught Asymmetry is one of the most overlooked issues when it comes to horses and their healthy biomechanics – way of moving. This goes further than the feet, it affects the entire body. Learn a new way to look at your horse in terms of balance and straightness: From shoulders to frog, hips to frog, and ears to tail. Can you imagine the consequences of one hip or shoulder positioned higher or further forward than the other? This alone can explain difficulties on one canter lead or circling in one direction vs the other, a weak or sore back… not to mention more painful issues such as chronic lameness, and emotional stress.  “I am passionate about helping horses be happy by creating an environment where the horse can find peace with their human. I see my farrier work as going way beyond the foot. By focusing on symmetry, I can balance a horse’s energy flow which has a positive effect on the way they move, soundness, longevity, and as a result their mental and emotional wellbeing. I am excited to share my knowledge with you at the Conference. A symmetrical horse is a happier horse.” - TONY VAUGHT  The Team  Courtney Crane (Linda Parelli Protégé, Class 4 Instructor) “I am dedicated to helping Linda create happy horses all over the world. I feel fortunate to have been at the forefront when she started Happy Horse Happy Life and am inspired by the enormous change I have witnessed in myself and my students when learning how to talk horse and truly use psychology. This fuels me to empower as many people as possible to think and act like a better leader, rider, and communicator.”   Michelle Smith (Apprentice Instructor) Cheryl Almasy (Apprentice Instructor) Sharon Carr (HHHL Content Manager)  The Horses Jazz (& Linda) 15yo Dutch-Oldenburg Warmblood. Jazz is a high-spirited Tense-Stopper and has been quite the challenge for Linda to bring to higher levels of performance – at liberty and riding. Being shy and introverted, Jazz is still not quite accepting of his celebrity! Highland (& Linda) 14yo Holsteiner Warmblood, oozes charisma and has a great talent for jumping. Highland is a Mover and, was untrainable… rein-lame, extremely tense, dangerous to ride with other horses, afraid of training and allergic to ‘traps’. He is not an easy horse, but he is a now a happy one. Mele 14yo Andalusian. Mele is a medium-high spirit Mover. He is an incredible partner and continues to teach Courtney about the real meaning of harmony as they both advance in the study of dressage and higher levels of liberty. Yuri (Just Yuri!) 2yo Andalusian, extremely high-spirited and Pushy. Yuri is destined for the world stage... at least he thinks so! Travis (& Michelle) 16yo Appendix gelding, medium-high spirit Tense-Mover. Travis feared going off property – was very spooky, and afraid of his own shadow. He is emotional and affectionate, and helping him relax continues to be #1.  Michelle calls him her “tall, dark and handsome.” Breeze (& Sharon) 8yo QH grulla mare. Breeze is a high spirited, sensitive mare with little tolerance for mistakes! She can get revved up and tense, and then feisty and opinionated. Did you guess right? She’s a Pushy mare. Ready (& Cheryl) 17yo QH gelding. Ready is fantastic at everything. Innately, he is a medium spirited Stopper but, overall he’s pretty centered! [If you haven't already, click here to register to attend! >]( PS: HHHL Member tickets are cheaper than if you're NOT a member.
