The auction contains 220 lots, including signed silk carpets such as a Qum Shakeri ([lot 7007]( large carpets from Persia and a collection of Caucasian pieces with reasonable reserve prices. Another highlight in the sale is a signed Chinese silk carpet from the Forbidden City of Beijing ([lot 7028](. Shown above is a 19th-century Chelaberd (eagle kazak) from the Caucasus ([lot 7040](. [View the auction.]( [News] 'Humans, Beasts, Gods. Textile Treasures from Ancient Peru' is showing at the Abegg-Stiftung in Riggisburg until 13 November 2022. The exhibition is comprised of a collection of Peruvian textiles, dating from as early as the 1st century BCE, up to the 16th century. Most were discovered in the desert regions of Peru, so have been well-preserved, and reveal the important role textiles played in aspects of both life and death for these early civilisations. Shown above is a detail of a Chimú tunic from the north coast of Peru, 11th–15th century.
