Thanks so much for coming out! [3602421454791242043.png] Wednesday, April 24, 2024 [Simple Geiger Counter Is Packed With Features >>]( In a Word, Thanks! We'd like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who came out to Hackaday Europe in Berlin! We had a great time, and we like to think that you did, too. As Elliot said in [the Hackaday newsletter]( many of you were chuffed about the much shorter lightning talks and want to see more of them. We'll keep that in mind! Look for the write-up once Elliot gets the pictures all sorted out. As always, we are grateful to have DigiKey as sponsors, and to Supplyframe for making it all possible. Meanwhile, [the 2024 Home Sweet Home Automation contest]( has now ended, and we're in the process of judging. We can't wait to see who scored where, and we'll have those results for you as soon as possible. Thank you to everyone who entered, and a big thanks to DigiKey for sponsoring the contest. [These Solar Calipers Never Say Die]( Tired of cheap calipers that drain their batteries all too quickly, [Johan] hacked in a solar panel instead. Oh, there's also fourteen 100 microFarad SMD capacitors crammed into the battery compartment for an energy store, plus a voltage regulator. [project thumbnail](
[Fallout Cyberdeck Is Built to Withstand EMP]( This Fallout-inspired cyberdeck should be able to withstand a nuke. Well, the EMP part, anyway. Between the double-layer Faraday fabric-lined interior, the conductive gasket in place of the O-ring, and all the conductive paint, we don't doubt the thing's integrity, though we don't really want to find out.
