[]World and Ancient coins featured at August 3 ANA Platinum Night
[Trajan's Deified Father](
[Trajan's Deified Father]( Since our first ANA showcase offering of world and ancient coins in 2014, the Platinum Night auction has been a marquee event for lovers of rare and beautiful coins. With nearly 500 exceptional lots from every era and region, this year's offering, scheduled for [Thursday, August 3]( adds luster to this legacy.
Our selection of 125 Ancient coins is the biggest, finest and most impressive we have ever assembled for a Platinum Night offering. It kicks off with a special section comprising [The Golden Gate Collection of Roman Gold Aurei]( 40 impeccable coins covering a century-long span from the AD 60s to 160s, likely unearthed as a single find in the late 1970s and acquired by the present owner's father in 1981. This group includes an [extremely rare aureus of Trajan's deified father]( a run of artistic Hadrian aurei documenting his travels, and several superb Mint State aurei of Antoninus Pius, Marcus Aurelius, Lucius Verus, and the two Faustinas, with several varieties rated unique.
The Ancients section continues with a stunning array of Greek coins highlighted by [two Syracuse decadrachms]( [a completely unrecorded gold stater of Magnesia in Ionia]( an astonishing run of Lydian electrum and gold, and 10 massive gold pieces of Ptolemaic Egypt. The Judaean section includes an incredible rarity: [A silver quarter-shekel from Year Four of the Jewish War]( one of only four known. The regular Roman offering includes another 15 gold pieces, including [an extremely rare aureus of Didius Julianus](.
The World portion is packed with awe-inspiring coins, including a run of [Japanese proofs]( representing some of the earliest dates in presentation quality from the Meiji period. Dated 1870 to 1871, these coins are each of the highest rarity, with our research suggesting they may be unique. Uniformly preserved in exceptional condition, the collection's highest denomination, [a 20 yen piece, rates an unbelievable NGC PR66 Cameo](. As the first date produced, this coin has the potential to break records!

[]Seldom Seen Selections: Top-Notch 1915-S Panama-Pacific Half
[1915-S 50C Panama-Pacific MS67+ PCGS]( The Panama-Pacific half dollar was the only silver commemorative issued in conjunction with the Panama-Pacific International Exposition held in San Francisco in 1915; it was also the first silver commemorative struck at a branch mint (San Francisco). A mintage of 200,000 coins was authorized by Congress, but only 60,030 examples were actually struck, and even fewer (just 27,134 pieces) were ever distributed.
Unlike some commemorative issues, the Pan-Pac half dollar circulated very little, and the preponderance of examples are in the MS63-65 range. The issue becomes scarce at the Superb Gem level, and downright rare any higher. Our [July 6-9 Long Beach auction]( features [an example graded MS67+ by PCGS]( a grade level surpassed by a mere five coins at both major grading services combined.
This beautifully preserved coin showcases concentric pastel rainbow toning on each side, underlying a faint light golden veneer. The strike is pleasing, and the eye appeal is top-notch. The combination of technical excellence and aesthetic appeal should appeal to the most discriminating collectors of classic commemoratives and deserves a strong bid.

You can always connect and disconnect a social account, regardless of email address, to your Heritage account through MyProfile. In the lower part of the page, click on the switch to connect the PayPal account of your choice. Once connected, you can sign in with either your Heritage information or your social information for as long as the accounts are connected.

Riverfront Estate on 33 Acres near Whitefish, MT, Will be Sold Unreserved at Auction
[Whitefish Property Fit for a Rock n' Roll King]( Music and architecture fans take note: E-Street Band bassist Garry Tallent will sell his custom-build Montana getaway this July. The [sleek 3500 sq. ft. 4-bedroom/5-bath modernist estate]( will sell at a no-reserve auction, regardless of price, on July 18th. Ideally situated for fans of the great outdoors, the estate is surrounded by a jaw-dropping 360° view of the Whitefish Range and Blacktail Mountain Ski Resort.
The stunning house drew a lot of attention when it was built in 2007 for rock n' roll hall of famer Garry Tallent and his wife Tammy. It defies the Montana stereotype rustic cabin aesthetic with its dedication to clean lines and advanced technology. Built with sustainability and mindfulness to its core, the house perfectly embodies living in harmony with nature. From the geothermal heating and cooling system to the solar panel array on the roof, every step was taken to tread lightly on the estate's 33 acres.
Noting that the property includes 800 feet of frontage on the Stillwater River, builder Marty Beale says, "We purposely sited it away from steep banks, fragile habitats and the animal corridor along the nearby river."
The Tallent home includes solar power, tankless water heaters, a rainwater catchment system, and impressive attention to energy efficiency and the environment in its construction. But the beauty of this mountain gem isn't in those details. It's in all of the ways the home embraces its location. The home's new owners will appreciate the how easily the house flows from indoor to outdoor space and back again. With an outdoor dining pavilion, massive rooftop deck, and both a fire pit and outdoor fireplace, the home encourages visitors to soak in all that Flathead Valley has to offer.
Bidding for the house, which was last listed at $3,000,000, will take place on July 18 at [Heritage's Luxury Real Estate Auction](. The property will have no minimum starting bid and will be sold without reserve. Bidders are required to register prior to the sale. If interested buyers should call (406)686-2BID or visit ha.com/whitefish for more information.
