Here are two original model sheet/animator practice drawings of Yogi and his diminutive pal, Boo Boo. The first sheet includes eight graphite images of Yogi, with one of Boo Boo, for size comparison; figure sizes range from 2.5" to 6". The second sheet has thirteen images of Boo Boo, with all but two as full-figures. Sizes range from 1.75" to 3.25"; all are in soft graphite, with red pencil highlights on one. The bottom right corner is signed "Kerns," presumably for Billie Kerns, a H-B Ink and Paint supervisor from whose archives these drawings come, or perhaps Jack Kerns, longtime Disney/H-B animator (and Billie's husband). Very Good condition with minor handling wear.

[]Copy of Super Mario Bros. Video Game Sets World-Record Price of $100,150
[Super Mario Bros]( An unopened copy of Super Mario Bros., the classic video game released by Nintendo in 1985, set a world record for a graded game when it recently sold for $100,150.
"Beyond the artistic and historical significance of this game is its supreme state of preservation," says Kenneth Thrower, co-founder and chief grader of Wata Games.
Due to its popularity, Nintendo reprinted Super Mario Bros. from 1985 to 1994 numerous times, resulting in 11 different box variations ([according to this visual guide](. The first two variations are "sticker sealed" copies that were only available in the New York and L.A. test market launch of the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1985 and 1986. Of all the sealed copies of Super Mario Bros., this is the only known "sticker sealed" copy and was certified by [Wata Games]( with a Near Mint grade of 9.4 and a "Seal Rating" of A++.
"Not only are all of NES sticker sealed game' extremely rare, but by their nature of not being sealed in shrink wrap they usually exhibit significant wear after more than 30 years," Thrower said. "This game may be the condition census of all sticker sealed NES games known to exist."
A group of collectors joined forces Feb. 6 to purchase the game, including some of the biggest names in video games and collectibles as a whole. The buyers include Jim Halperin, Founder and Co-Chairman of [Heritage Auctions]( of Dallas, Texas; Zac Gieg, owner of [Just Press Play Video Games]( in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and Rich Lecce, renowned coin dealer, pioneering video game collector, and owner of [Robert B. Lecce Numismatist Inc]( of Boca Raton, Florida.
"Super Mario Bros. is not only the most recognizable game of all time, it saved the video game industry in 1985," said Wata Games President, Deniz Kahn. "In terms of rarity, popularity, and relevance to collectors, this game has it all. Mario is the most recognized fictional or non-fictional character in the world, more so than even Mickey Mouse. Super Mario Bros. launched the world's largest game franchise and this copy is the only known sealed example from Nintendo's test market release.
"I would have loved nothing more than to be a part-owner, and even though this game was already certified, I didn't want the remote perception of any conflict of interest due to my position at Wata," Kahn said.
Gieg called this example the equivalent of the valuable comic book, Action Comics #1. "This is first appearance of Superman of video games," he said. "We all knew how hard it is to find an open copy of this version in nice condition, but to find one still sealed is truly something I thought I would never see, even after selling vintage video games for over 20 years"
"More and more collectors from other fields are discovering how much fun it is to collect video games," says Lecce. "It's a very exciting time for our industry, especially with Heritage Auctions [entering the secondary market for collectible vintage video games](. With upcoming movie projects and three Nintendo-themed Universal amusement parks slated to open in 2020, the impact and popularity these characters have on our culture will be that much more apparent to new collectors entering the market."
Wata-certified video games have been selling for record prices ever since Heritage began auctioning them in January. While many video games sell regularly for five figures, breaking the six-figure mark shows that the hobby's upward trajectory indicates no signs of slowing down, Kahn said.
"I'm very happy with our purchase of the Super Mario Bros., considering the impact the release of this game had on the world and continues to have," said Halperin. "The first Signature Auctions featuring Wata-certified video games run this February 21-23, and while this copy won't appear in this auction, it just may end up in an auction sometime in the future."

[]Amazing Unopened Find of Fleer Wax Boxes Uncovered in Heritage Platinum Auction
With unopened wax boxes currently commanding the highest realized prices in the history of the hobby, Heritage Auctions is proud to feature one of the nicest finds of unopened Fleer sports and non-sports card boxes ever offered, and a selection of the find will be sold in our [February Platinum Sports Auction]( that ends this weekend.
According to consignment director Lee Iskowitz, the father of our consignor was a candy distributor for Fleer, and he saved a box each time he was finished with a cycle of orders. Iskowitz added that the entire find was kept in the consignor's family until now, which makes this a hobby fresh offering.
Iskowitz was amazed when he received the call regarding the collection.
"It was phenomenal because you never see unopened wax of this magnitude in one spot," said Iskowitz. "The boxes from the collection featured in Platinum Night should command prices exceeding a total of $150,000."

Landmark Mystery Fiction Collection of Otto Penzler Offered by Heritage Auctions
[Part 1 of most comprehensive genre collection ever assembled crosses the block March 6 in New York](
Part 1 of most comprehensive genre collection ever assembled crosses the block March 6 in New York
Otto Penzler's lifelong passion for mystery fiction began with "The Complete Sherlock Holmes" by Arthur Conan Doyle.
With little competition in the early days, he began uncovering first-edition copies of detective fiction by scouring dozens of shops across New York City's 4th Avenue "booksellers' row." His collection of detective fiction was an addicting, yet affordable pursuit, and clearly ahead of its time.
"It was easy to find a half dozen first editions in collectable condition within my five-dollar-a-week budget," Penzler said. "My primary drive was buying a book in the mystery world that I could afford. It was the pure joy of collecting."
Now a giant of the New York literary scene, Penzler is opening his personal library to fellow collectors for the first time in 55 years. [The Otto Penzler Collection of Mystery Fiction, Part 1]( debuts in [Heritage Auctions' Rare Books Auction]( March 6 in New York.
After devouring work by authors Agatha Christie, John Dickson Carr and Ellery Queen, it was Raymond Chandler and Dashiell Hammett who convinced the young collector that crime fiction could be elevated to a place of parity with the best of American literature.
Penzler opened the Mysterious Bookshop in midtown Manhattan in 1979, a business that supplied like-minded fiction fans as well as his growing and enviable collection.
"Every first edition that came into the store was compared against my personal copy," Penzler said. "It was where I researched every week. I upgraded books constantly, being obsessed with having the best possible copy, as well as checking for variants, which I thought important for bibliographical purposes." After decades of finding new titles, and upgrading the ones he already had, he needed to build a massive library attached to his medium-size home, a bibliophile's palace.
The investment paid off: Penzler's [1929 first edition copy of Hammett's "Red Harvest"]( may sell for at least $60,000, and a [first edition of "The Big Sleep," signed by Chandler himself]( may sell for more than $30,000.
[A remarkable copy of "The Maltese Falcon"]( a high spot of the hard-boiled canon and Hammett's first book to feature Sam Spade, also may sell north of $30,000.
"We believe this to be the best and most comprehensive collection in this genre ever assembled," said Greg Rohan, president of Heritage Auctions. "This auction is only the first in an ongoing series of auctions over the next two years that will showcase to the world Otto's unprecedented collection."
The initial offering includes 231 lots, including rare volumes such as the 1845 first edition, first printing of ["Tales" by Edgar Allan Poe]( and [James M. Cain's "The Postman Always Rings Twice,"]( a coveted 1934 first edition association copy, inscribed by the author. The entire collection on offer March 6 [is now open for preview and bidding](.
Part 2 of The Otto Penzler Collection of Mystery Fiction auction is Sept. 5 in New York, with a strong emphasis on British authors.
