Newman Collection](. A full slate of U.S. Coins Signature sessions follow beginning on Thursday, November 8, with the Premier Session on Thursday evening, and two floor sessions on Friday - one in the afternoon, followed by an evening session. Our online-only Internet Signature Session is on Saturday afternoon for the Eric P. Newman Collection and on Sunday afternoon, November 11, for U.S. Coins. Thursday, November 8 will see our popular Premier Session takes center stage with high-quality, rare gold from The Marcello Collection, which made a memorable debut during the October Chicago Signature event. A [Very Large Size Hentsch ingot]( from the S.S. Central America shipwreck - the fifth-largest Hentsch of the shipwreck finds - is just one highlight of the Marcello Collection. Other consignors add key date gold and Territorial Gold to this strong segment of the auction, including the rare, original [1857-S J.L. Polhemus countermarked 1857-S double eagle]( an historic coin from the well-known 1985 Van Ormer Collection. Our Featured Collection is the [Gary Verner Collection]( featuring treasures to delight Barber coinage enthusiasts and Walking Liberty specialists, with a number of Barbers bearing the Prooflike designation. Just a few of the additional highlights of this auction include: - [1927-S 25C MS64 Full Head NGC]( - [1895 $1 PR66 PCGS]( - [1877 $10 MS60 PCGS Secure]( - [1851-O $20 MS62 NGC]( - [1859-O $20 AU55 PCGS]( - [1891 $20 AU58 PCGS Secure]( - [Kellogg & Humbert Gold Ingot. 46.41 Ounces]( - [Kellogg & Humbert Gold Ingot. 38.67 Ounces]( Bid on the Dallas Signature Auction now at [coins.HA.com]( [Back to Top](#top) []The Dr. Hans Wilski Collection, Part II [Ottoman Empire. Mahmud II 5 Qirsh AH 1223 Year 29 (1835/6) AU55 NGC]( [Ottoman Empire. Mahmud II 5 Qirsh AH 1223 Year 29 (1835/6) AU55 NGC]( Following the superb turnout of our first monthly sale of the Dr. Hans Wilski Collection, Heritage is excited to announce that the second and final part, of this collection will be open for bidding this October 21st to November 18th. Picking up on the heels of Part I, Part II will cover the period from Osman III's accession to the throne down to the collapse of the Ottoman regime under Sultan Mehmed VI. Among the items available for bidding are a number of fantastic early rarities, including a run of elusive Sultanis of Suleyman I from the mints of [Kocaniye]( [Ruha]( and a potentially unique specimen from [Si'irt]( an incredible [Early Post-Reform Kurush of Mustafa II]( overstruck on a Dutch Lion Daalder-perhaps the only example in private hands-and a gorgeously toned [akce of Mehmed III]( from the Macedonian mint of Ohri. Moving to the epoch that is the focus of this auction, we know that collectors of the series will be eager to acquire an excessively rare pair of [Tunisian 4]( and [8 Kharub]( from the reign of the short-lived sultan Mustafa IV, an [Egyptian 5 Qirsh]( from Mahmud II's 29th regnal year graded AU55 by NGC, an [Abdul Hamid II Year 1 gold 25 Kurush]( a [prooflike Tunisian 2 Piastres]( of the same ruler, as well as loads of plate coins both from Dr. Wilski's own references and the Standard Catalog of World Coins. The auction will also be chalked full of Dr. Wilski's personal favorites, the counterstamped paras of the 19th and 20th centuries, among the most exhilarating being the semi-legendary [Omdurman "Rosette"-Counterstamped 20 Piastres]( first reported by W. H. Valentine in 1911. With such a great assemblage of rarities, we would be glad to assist in targeting any of these prized lots, and answer any questions you may have at worldcoins@HA.com. The auction can be viewed at [HA.com/271846]( and will conclude with a live online bidding session starting at 5:00 PM CT on HeritageLive! on November 18th. Good luck and happy bidding! [Back to Top](#top) []Mark Stephenson Joins Heritage Auctions' Beverly Hills Office as Coins Consignment Director [Mark Stephenson] Heritage Auctions has announced that Mark Stephenson, an attorney with nearly 20 years of experience in virtually all aspects of the coin collecting hobby, has joined its [Beverly Hills office]( as a Consignment Director. "Mark is an accomplished expert in every part of coin collecting," Heritage Auctions President Greg Rohan said. "Consider the important roles that allow success in coin collecting - operations, accounting, management, grading, buying and selling, marketing, e-commerce, inventory software development, photography, cataloging - and he has a background in all of it. His foundation of knowledge immediately strengthens Heritage's footprint in coin collecting in California, and expands our worldwide reach within the hobby." Stephenson comes to Heritage Auctions after spending three years as Vice President/Director of Customer Relations at Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS), a division of Collectors Universe, where he was responsible for the company's bulk division and oversaw customer service. He previously served as General Manager, In-House Counsel and Chief Financial Officer at Excellent Numismatics in Malibu, California, managing day-to-day operations, overseeing inventory control, operations, shipping and receiving, legal, administrative and accounting aspects of the business, and was an Operations Specialist at Malibu Coin Company. In addition to his experience in numismatics, he also was a founding partner of Jackson & Stephenson LLP, a Los Angeles-based law firm where he oversaw the firm's litigation practice and advised corporate clients in business and legal matters. [Back to Top](#top) []Around Heritage Auctions [Colonel Harland Sanders Personally Owned and Worn Suit and Hat (1979-1980)]( Col. Harlan Sanders' Original Suit Offered at Auction by Longtime Driver For the last decade of his life, Colonel Harland Sanders relied on Dick Miller perhaps more closely than anyone else. Sanders' driver and friend, Miller tended Sanders' estate gardens, looked after his Sanders' wife, Claudia, after her husband's passing in 1980, and came to feel like a part of the Sanders family. After nearly 40 years with the company, Miller is opening his personal archive of gifts and memorabilia he collected during his time with Sanders. The collection spans 20 personal items, including [an authentic and iconic Col. Sanders White Suit and a matching Stetson cowboy hat]( rarely seen at auction. The two first met in 1979 outside of Claudia Sanders Dinner House in Shelbyville, Kentucky. Sanders asked if Miller would mow grass and wash dishes. "Wash dishes?" Miller asked. The Colonel replied, "Yes, the dishwasher is the most important job. The dishwasher knows if people are eating the food or not!" Miller says he even "drove his boss to his grave," when he was asked to drive the Colonel one last time - when he was asked to drive the hearse at the Colonel's funeral. The collection includes [Mr. and Mrs. Sanders' personal driver's licenses]( and an assortment of [Sanders' credit cards]( such as his American Express card, and even Sanders' personal Kentucky Fried Chicken Corp.-branded Chevron credit card. Miller is also offering Sanders' [personally owned belt buckle, inscribed "COL. SANDERS/SAN ANTONIO, 1974," and Sanders' personal, silver-toned vintage Diastar 8 Rado wristwatch]( all gifts he received over the years. Miller said the time has come sell his memorabilia because "I want someone who wants and appreciates the items to end up with them," he said. "He was very generous with the wealth he earned. It was important to him to donate money to education and schools." The archive appears at a live auction Nov. 3 at Heritage Auctions' [Entertainment & Music Memorabilia Auction]( with worldwide internet bidding available through HA.com.
