[View]( [Frank Frazetta Li'l Abner-style Illustration Original Art (c. 1950s)]( Frank Frazetta Li'l Abner-style Illustration Original Art (c. 1950s) Not even creator Al Capp could draw the Li'l Abner-style characters better than Frazetta, who spent much of the 1950s as Capp's ghost-assistant, bound for bigger accomplishments. Frazetta's hitch on Abner yielded some of the most voluptuous women in comics history — but in this out-of-context piece he depicts a hideous and scrawny hillbilly crone, nursing a drink at a rickety bar. The face resembles that of Jeb Scragg, a recurring villain in Li'l Abner. The exaggerated naturalism is spellbinding. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 10" x 15". Excellent condition. [View]( [Superman #144 (DC, 1961) CGC VF+ 8.5 Off-white to white pages]( Superman #144 (DC, 1961) CGC VF+ 8.5 Off-white to white pages Supergirl, Krypto, and Lex Luthor appearances. Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko cover and art. Currently ranks #1 on Overstreet's list of Top 50 Silver Age Comics. Overstreet 2017 GD 2.0 value = $7,000. CGC census 3/18: 143 in 2.5, 1146 higher. [View]( [Curt Swan and Murphy Anderson Superman #236 Story Page 2 Batman Original Art (DC, 1971)]( Curt Swan and Murphy Anderson Superman #236 Story Page 2 Batman Original Art (DC, 1971) Batman makes a cameo appearance on this page from the story "Planet of Angels", as does that seminal hold-over from the Silver Age... the giant key to the Fortress of Solitude! One of the other cool parts for the page is the mention that all of the Green Kryptonite on Earth is gone! Just three issues previously, DC took a bold move that destroyed all Green-K on Earth (turned it into iron) but also mysteriously halved Superman's power levels. This wonderful Swanderson page was created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". There is a bit of whiteout art correction in places, and the board is toned with a touch of production tape residue in the extreme marginal corners. In Very Good condition. [View]( [X-Men #141 (Marvel, 1981) CGC NM/MT 9.8 White pages]( X-Men #141 (Marvel, 1981) CGC NM/MT 9.8 White pages "Days of Future Past" part one. First appearances of Rachel Grey, Avalanche, Pyro, and Destiny. John Byrne cover and art. Overstreet 2017 NM- 9.2 value = $125. CGC census 3/18: 496 in 9.8, 1 higher. [View]( [Jim Aparo Brave and the Bold #186 Story Page 6 Original Art (DC, 1982)]( Jim Aparo Brave and the Bold #186 Story Page 6 Original Art (DC, 1982) Hawkman and Batman are in chase of a museum thief in the story "The Treasure of the Hawk-God's Tomb"! Created in Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". Irregularly trimmed bottom corners. In Excellent Condition. [View]( [John Buscema - Conan Illustration Original Art (1994)]( John Buscema - Conan Illustration Original Art (1994) This thoughtful and introspective Conan piece captures the weariness of the warrior who would one day be king. Created in ink over graphite with a matted image area of 8" x 11". It is glass front framed out to 11.5" x 14.5". Signed and dated in the image area. In Excellent condition.
