💤 No Images? [Click here]( GOOD TO KNOW If you didn't get that full eight hours of sleep, you're probably dehydrated OK, yes! We know! This is boring news. But it's also super relevant, so stop rolling your eyes and pay attention: If you sleep six hours or fewer in a night, [you're almost definitely dehydrated](. This is good news and bad news The bad news is you're dehydrated (obviously), and you'll need to drink extra water throughout the day to make up for it. Here's the good news though: Many of those day-after issues we thought were related to poor sleep could actually just be from dehydration. This is good because it's a much easier problem to fix—just drink extra water in the a.m. and your brain and body will hopefully start functioning normally again. ([Sleep Research Society]() Try this Having trouble sleeping? Try using white noise to cover up unwanted sounds during the night. You can actually train your body to get used to certain noise patterns, which will help you fall asleep faster (and stay asleep longer 😴). Consistency is key to improving your sleep routine. [Greatist]( SPONSORED The snack that’s full of the good stuff We love basic snacks that don't offer much in the way of nutrition (#pretzels4ever). So just imagine how much we love snacks that are packed with protein and made without extra sugar or artificial colors and preservatives. Seriously, imagine. We'll give you a hint: It's A LOT. But finding a snack that fits the bill? Rare. That’s why we stocked up immediately when we found [Stryve Biltong](. Biltong is basically beef jerky’s healthier cousin: It’s made with vinegar and spices rather than sugary marinades—and it has about 50 percent more protein than jerky. You can stock up too—for 30 percent off! Talk about a deal. For a limited time, Stryve is giving Greatist readers 30 percent off. To get in on this, just enter code GREATIST at checkout. FROM MY ANTIBODIES TO YOURS Llamas are gonna save us all from the flu How's this for a not-boring story! There's some new science that promises a potential flu solution that's way, way better than a shot. It'd probably be a nasal spray and offer long-term protection against all strains of the flu, meaning you wouldn't have to get it every year and it'd be way more effective. Even better, very old and very young people (plus anyone else with a weaker immune system) could also use it. And it's all thanks to llamas. Please don't ask me to explain how There are some sciencey details [here](, but the simplified explanation is that llamas apparently have some cool antibodies that are way better at fighting the flu virus than human ones. By copying these llama antibodies and essentially spraying them up the noses of mice, researchers tricked the mice cells into replicating them and becoming better flu fighters. Before this solution gets anywhere near our desperate human hands, it'll have to go through way more testing. So don't get too excited yet. But still, if you see a llama today, thank them from the bottom of your useless antibodies. ([PopSci]() EDITOR'S PICK Cleaning products so clean, you can use them as a fruit wash Look, cleaning is gross. I'd say 75 percent of that is because of the dirt and grime (and, OK, mold). But 25 percent is because the cleaning products themselves are kind of alarming in their own right—they're smelly and strong enough to burn holes through your skin (almost). [Branch Basics]( makes effective cleaning products so safe you can eat 'em All the ingredients are food or plant grade, so you can use the same spray on your moldy bathroom tile and your fruit without being worse for the wear. This still blows my mind—I used to wear gloves cleaning the tub because I hated when the chemicals got on my skin. Anyway, it gets better: Branch Basics uses a concentrate system, which makes my life easier and the cabinet under my sink way less cluttered. Fill up the bottle with water until the line on the label tells you to stop. Add the soap until it hits the next line. Then shake it up and spray away. The all-purpose, glass and mirror, and bathroom cleaners all use the same soap (just in different proportions), so when it's time to refill, you only have to buy one product. -- Caroline Olney, platforms editor [SHOP NOW]( Every editorial product is independently selected by our editors.
