Hey pen friends, It's hard to believe it's 2017 already. 2016 was a mixed year for us. GouletPens saw a lot of growth and our team is stronger than ever. We faced some personal strife in our family, and we are presented with a particular challenge this week because we are coming up on the due date for the child we lost last summer. We won't sugar coat it, this is a very tough reminder for us of what could have been, and we are simply having to accept and embrace our grief. Despite how difficult it is to have a very fresh reminder of the pain we endured last summer, we are reminded that there is beauty in even the darkest of circumstances. As we talk and cry about our loss, our two kids comfort us by bringing us their favorite stuffed animals, give us hugs, and even make Lego mosaics that say "I love you" on them. It's innocent love at its purest, and is bittersweet because we are so thankful for the kids we have and yet mourning the child we lost. This is a very personal message this week. We are mourning, and we are sad. But in that sadness we recognize that there are so many things in our life to be thankful for. In particular, the family, friends, co-workers, and fountain pen community that supports us through it all. While 2016 has passed, we are still living with much of what we went through last year. We are embracing that, and look forward to better days ahead in 2017.
