Garth Callaghan of [Napkin Notes]( fame came and spoke with us a couple of weeks ago, and we recorded it. We’ll be publishing that for you this Friday, in place of our normal Q&A. Since that time, we’ve tried out writing some napkin notes for our own kids in their lunches as they go to summer day camp, and they’ve really latched on to the idea. Our son loved them right away, and has even collected many of them and put them on display in his room. Our daughter didn’t want them at first, but quickly changed positions when we started writing silly and fun trivia facts for her. Both of our kids now ask for them daily, and even leave us post-it notes reminding us to write them. We try all kinds of things as parents to leave impressions on our kids, and it seems like, at least for now, that our kids are loving these handwritten notes we’re leaving them. It’s also giving us a special reason to pick up a pen and write each day! Btw napkins aren’t great with fountain pens, but it can be done!
