It was never going to stop with banning abortion

{NAME}, On the heels of revelations about the junk science behind the mifepristone case before the Supreme Court, we are facing a new attack against reproductive freedom. The Alabama State Supreme Court, in defiance of all biological science, medical expertise, common sense or simple human decency, has effectively put an end to in vitro fertilization services in the state. The ruling raises worrisome legal issues for would-be parents far beyond Alabama whose hopes for children may depend on in vitro fertilization.]( This cruel decision is not only flagrantly anti-science, it is a devastating blow to the 1 in 6 families who experience fertility challenges and depend on medical advancements like IVF to have the children they desperately want. Already, 125 House Republicans have sponsored a “life at conception” bill without an IVF exception. My opponent, Nick LaLota, is a member of the far right Republican Study Commission that supports this bill. The “life at conception” bill is an alarming signal of how far Republicans are willing to go, and a stark reminder that this will not stop with banning abortion or making IVF impossible to perform – and it will certainly not stop with Alabama. I’m running for Congress to defend reproductive freedom for all – whether it’s your right to access abortion, your right to fertility treatments like IVF, or even your right to contraception.
