Congress is back in session, and the fight to protect Social Security is heating up. The House is back in session this week, and Republicans are about to unleash their plan demanding major cuts to our social safety net. I’ve joined forces with Democrats and activists across the country to send a loud and clear message to our representatives to protect Social Security and healthcare by voting no to this legislation. Will you join me and sign our petition? [Add your name >>](   {NAME}, Extremist members of Congress are attacking our Social Security system―but they don’t want us to know it. In his first address after winning the Speakership, Mike Johnson demanded that House Republicans fast-track a fiscal commission that would gut Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid behind closed doors. These extremists have already met twice to discuss legislation that would create Johnson’s commission. [Click here to add your name to tell Congress “Don’t you dare touch our Social Security!”]( {NAME}, this issue should not be up for debate. The American people clearly want Social Security expanded, not cut. That’s verified by polls showing 80% of the country wants Congress to protect both Social Security and Medicare. The White House has rightly called this sort of commission a "death panel for Medicare and Social Security." That’s because the commission would allow Republicans to cut these critically important, and overwhelmingly popular, programs without members of Congress having to vote against them. Sign now to send a message to Congress: a vote for Johnson’s commission is a vote against the American people. [Add your name >>]( If Congress destroys Social Security, we deserve to know which lawmakers are responsible. That’s the only way we can vote them out and end their anti-American attacks on our benefits. Let’s stand together and defend Social Security for every American. Nancy Goroff P.S. In Congress, I will be a fierce defender of Social Security, Medicare, and other crucial benefits that people have earned and rely on. In addition to signing this petition, I’d welcome a contribution in any amount that works for you to help me get the word out about my campaign. Thank you!
