They always have a goal in mind, and they are always practicing with a purpose. One of the common ways they like to work on their putting is by simulating the experience of being on the golf course.  Here’s how they do it.  Head to the putting green, but instead of grabbing the usual 3 or 4 balls just grab one. You’ll also want to grab a ball marker and place it in your pocket just like you would as if you were preparing to play a round.  Next choose a hole and place your ball about 15 to 20 feet away. After placing your ball take your time reading the putt. Start from behind the hole, then walk around and read the putt from behind the ball.  Go through your entire pre-shot routine, hit your putt, and if you don’t drain it mark your ball and go through the entire routine again on the next putt. Continue this until you get the ball into the hole, and then move on to another 15 or 20 foot putt.  As you can see, what you are doing is recreating the experience of putting on the course while you are on the practice green. While there are almost no amateur golfers who practice this way, the pros do it all the time.  Remember that how you practice is just as important as how much you practice and you’ll be well on your way to lower scores.  To Lower Scores,  Golf Game Tips  ------------------------ Continue here for help on your swing plane.
