Welcome back to our [weekly market wrap-up,]( where we dive into the economic events and market news that have significantly impacted gold prices and other precious metals throughout the week. This week, gold experienced its first losing streak in three weeks, largely due to fatigue from a recent rally that had driven prices to all-time highs. Early in the week, a sell-off pushed gold prices below the $2400/oz support line, and despite a brief rebound, the market remained relatively flat. The lack of significant economic data and the Federal Reserve's blackout period ahead of the FOMC meeting contributed to the stagnation. Equity market struggles, disappointing earnings reports, and concerns over the Fed's rate-cut timing added to the pressure. A surprise rate cut by China's PBOC initially drove prices lower, but gold saw a modest rally following Friday's PCE report, which showed hotter-than-expected inflation. Despite the mixed signals, gold managed to stabilize around $2385/oz by the end of the week. The market's outlook remains uncertain, with traders awaiting next week's FOMC meeting and the June Jobs Report for further direction.
