We hope you've had a fruitful week of trading. In this [Weekly Market Wrap]( we take a closer look at the recent happenings in the gold market and the factors that influenced its performance. Gold prices had a challenging week, largely due to changes in the Federal Reserve's future plans. The central bank's decision to possibly increase interest rates in 2024 pushed gold prices downwards, with the value dropping below $1900/oz. The strengthening of the U.S. Dollar added to this decline. Remarks from Neel Kashkari, the Minneapolis Fed President, hinted at even more rate increases, causing further dips in gold's value. By Thursday, gold hit a six-month low. Fortunately, by Friday, there was a small bounce back, bringing prices close to $1875/oz. The actions of the Federal Reserve remain a key influence on gold's direction. That wraps it up! Wishing you all a great weekend, and let’s touch base next week for another market snapshot.
