Gold was relatively flat throughout the week (except for a brief dip below $1900 on Tuesday), and ended down on Friday. However, it maintained enough resilience and consolidation to remain slightly up from last Friday ($1922.56). Gold ETFs are now close to 12-month highs, with March recording the highest inflows in 6 years. Friday's news of the US labor market adding 431,000 jobs, record inflation in the EU, and several weak manufacturing results in the Euro Zone gave strength to the US Dollar internationally. Investors showed confidence Friday across the US Equity Markets with all three exchanges ending the week in the green. But with a rise in coronavirus outbreaks in China, and war with Russia, the global supply chain is still vulnerable to disruption. All things considered, gold continues to ebb and flow, lacking a clear direction from either the bull or bear camps. Gold closed at $1924.80.
