The CCS Education and Literacy Project enables volunteers to bring enthusiasm for learning to under-resourced educational facilities in 8 countries around the world. By providing an extra set of hands in a crowded classroom, CCS volunteers ensure a better educational outcome for students and help minimize gender inequality in the classroom. By showing students that they are important on a global level, attendance is improved and students are motivated to work hard. After a career of 5+ years with CCS, staff member Kelly Knowles shares her favorite moments and why this line of work fills her with gratitude. I got to travel to many different places in Guatemala and visit so many diverse locations. I went zip-lining, made chocolate, brought souvenirs in markets and so many other fun activities. I loved teaching in the school! The kids were so sweet and really appreciated us teaching them and playing soccer at recess. I recommend this to anyone!” - Julia Feeling at Home “One of my favorite parts of the trip was how homey I felt in the house. Guatemala was where I especially felt this. I loved the cooks I loved the security guards and I love the staff, Virginia the director would braid my hair while I sat on the couch! Everyone was so nice. When I had to say goodbye to Faby the program specialist, that was when I cried the most. I loved seeing her everyday, she was always happy and nice and I loved her so much, she was the hardest goodbye for me.”- Cori The Best Month of My Life “I loved every minute of my trip to Ghana, but my favorite moment was when the staff took us to the wli waterfall and as we hiked up a short trail we came upon the beauty of the waterfall. You could see a rainbow forming upon the water and the force of the waterfall was amazing. Of course it was a great way to beat the heat during the summer of Ghana. They had little shops and trinkets at the beginning of the waterfall where they had hand carved animals and hand made blankets baskets and anything you could have wanted. Truly one of the best days of my life.”- Jessica CONTACT Cross-Cultural Solutions 2 Clinton Place, New Rochelle NY 10801, USA Chat with a Program Specialist Now: 1-914-632-0022 [Email us] • [Go to Site] [ ] You received this newsletter message from GoAbroad.com.
