within 5 minutes or less [View in browser](=.J627P9hPxh2YUobAu2AZ9AM1tcF-npaJI2xpEDZWIrA) Have you ever heard of Tabata workout? It's a type of a high-intensity interval workout where for each exercise, you do 8 rounds of 20 seconds of really intense exercise followed by 10 seconds of rest. No worries, I'm not going to tell you to exercise more often (although let's face it, we all could benefit from sitting less🙈). Today, I'm giving you a website Tabata workout: several small but powerful tips you can implement lightning-fast. And unlike with a body Tabata workout, you won't even break a sweat. 7 small things you can do today to improve your website (within 5 minutes or less) 1) Don't make headings and subheadings longer than 2 lines How it helps: Increases scanability => Decreases bounce rate + prospects to stay on the page longer. 2) Don't center the text that's longer than 3 lines. Instead, use left alignment. How it helps: 👉 Reduces cognitive load* => Makes the page easier to read => Prospects stay on the page longer. [*] - With centered text, our brains have to find the beginning of every line every time anew, and the longer the text, the more annoying it feels. 3) Make copy on call-to-action buttons or links complete the sentence "I want to..." and include a verb. For example: - Download my ebook - Book a call - Get in touch - Request a quote - Learn more How it helps: 👉 Fits a conversation a prospect is having in their head (assuming they are motivated enough to think about taking an action) => Gives them a feeling of connection with what you are saying => Increases the chances of a click. 👉 Describes the next step clearly => Increases the chances of a click (compared to a vague CTA copy). 4) Remove images from your website that you use only "because they are pretty". Leave only the images that make your message stronger, either by communicating things faster or by evoking a certain emotion. How it helps: 👉 Either makes your page shorter => More prospects will read more of it. 👉 Or makes your message stronger => Greater chance for an inquiry. 5) Don't use more than 2 one-line paragraphs in a row. Instead, vary paragraph length. How it helps: 👉 Breaks visual monotony => Keeps prospects' attention longer => Prospects stay on your page longer + read more of it. 6) Don't make the text lines of your page go all the way from the left to the right edge of the screen. Instead, use a narrower line width (ca. 75-100 characters for page body text ). How it helps: => Makes the page easier to read => Prospects stay on your page longer. 7) Make all internal links on your website (i.e. links that lead to other pages on your website) open in the same tab. How it helps: 👉 Fewer open tabs in the prospect's browser => Less distraction/confusion for them => More focus on your content. 👉 More accurate data on the user journey for you. Bonus tip: Make all external links (links that lead to pages on other websites) open in a new tab. This way the tab where your website is open will be preserved, which will make it easier for a prospect to come back to it. This would be all from me for the week. This email may contain typos, and I'm fine with them because cloning humans is, unfortunately, still impossible. Spending more time proofreading my emails would mean I'll have to share fewer tips with you. And sharing more and better tips is more important to me than sharing tips that are grammatically perfect. I hope that's fine with you, too.
