The Kansas City community will never be the same after yesterday’s tragedy

I am heartbroken and angered by the trauma my community experienced yesterday. In 2005, Congress passed the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, which made the firearms industry the only industry in America where irresponsible companies have immunity from most lawsuits. Since this law passed, gun deaths in America have risen a horrifying 59%. We need to change this statistic. Fast.
