Gabby founded our organization ten years ago because when she heard about the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, she knew she had to do something, even though she was deep in the process of her own recovery. We’ve made substantial progress in the fight to end gun violence since our founding, including last year’s landmark federal legislation, but unfortunately the fight is far from over. Children are still being shot in classrooms. We still can’t enter our community spaces—churches, movie theaters, grocery stores—without the fear of gunfire. And so we must keep moving forward.
