We recently launched a $10 million investment to mobilize gun violence prevention voters and elect candidates with the courage to act. That’s paid for by donations made in response to emails like this one. We work hard in a number of states across the country to pass critical legislation that makes communities safer, and to stop the NRA from passing legislation that makes us less safe. One example of that is a bill we defeated in Maryland that would allow anyone to legally go online and buy a do-it-yourself gun kit—no background check required. We won that fight, and donations made in response to emails like this helped fund that work. And, of course, the bipartisan gun safety legislation that President Biden just signed is another shining example of the work we’ve done together on this issue. That bill was the product of nearly a decade of hard work and slow, steady progress. Donations in response to emails like this have fueled our critical work at Giffords through the years.
