And our nation’s safety is worse off for it. How did this happen? The National Shooting Sports Foundation led an effort to smear Chipman’s reputation by launching a bad-faith misinformation campaign spreading lies about Chipman, the ATF, and President Biden’s efforts to reduce gun violence. They got many Republican senators to believe their conspiracy theories and oppose David’s nomination, even though he was the most qualified nominee in the agency’s history. So it’s clear the NSSF is stepping up as the new NRA and we have to be ready to go up against them.
