Back-to-school season

It’s a horrible reality to think that schools being closed during the pandemic is the reason why our students have been safe from school shootings. Less than two weeks into the school year. It’s a horrible reality to think that schools being closed during the pandemic is the reason why our students have been safe from school shootings. But it’s true — and now we need to prepare for the fact that as students return to classrooms, we are also seeing a return to school shootings and lockdowns. That’s why we are redoubling our efforts to pass universal background checks so we can make our classrooms and communities safer by preventing these tragedies from ever taking place.
