I wanted to take a moment to reach out myself and shed some light on why this is so important. Will you give me a chance to explain? As you may know by now, the group we are increasingly concerned with is the NSSF, the National Shooting Sports Foundation. They have been gaining influence lately and are actually outspending the NRA right now. They’ve been running TV spots in Maine and West Virginia to a total of $1 million to try and stop us from confirming David Chipman as the next ATF Director. And the problem is their efforts seem to be working. They are employing the same fear mongering playbook as the NRA to bully vulnerable Senators to vote with them. So as the NRA deals with its own problems, the “new NRA," the NSSF is stepping up to take their place and we have to be ready to go head-to-head with a new opponent. That is why today, I have to ask: [If you are able, will you chip in $3 today to help us go head-to-head with the NSSF? We are so close to enacting change — real change — for our communities and we can’t afford to lose that opportunity now.]( If you've stored your info with ActBlue, we'll process your contribution instantly: [Donate $3]( [Donate $25]( [Donate $50]( [Donate $100]( [Donate $250]( [Other Amount]( Both the NRA and the NSSF will go to extreme lengths to prevent us from making real change. And they could be successful if we don’t intervene. But we've gone toe-to-toe with groups like this before — the simple fact that the NRA is a shell of what it once was is a huge testament to the strength of our movement. And we know that if all of us fight back, we will defeat them and end their influence over Washington for good. So thank you so much for continuing to support the lifesaving work we’re doing here. It means so much to me and the entire team at Giffords.
