Despite filing for bankruptcy back in January, they've continued to spend millions of dollars lobbying Congress and pushing their dangerous agenda. But what you might not know is that there is a new group emerging recently that is filling the NRA’s shoes while they retreat into bankruptcy. That group is called the NSSF or the National Shooting Sports Foundation. They have been gaining influence lately and are actually outspending the NRA right now. They’ve been running TV spots in Maine and West Virginia to a total of $1 million to try and stop us from confirming David Chipman as the next ATF Director. In 2010, the NSSF spent just $300,000 on federal lobbying. And in 2020, the amount they spent was nearly $5 million, more than 16 times higher. So while we may have weakened the NRA, an equally powerful and equally committed group has emerged to take their place and fight our progress on gun safety.
