[Giffords] {NAME}, We have some good news and some bad news. The good news is: so far thousands of you have stepped up to donate in our push to get universal background checks passed next month. The bad news is: we are still short of where we need to be to hit our 15,000 donation goal. We still have 24 hours to turn this around and be prepared for when background checks get reintroduced, but we have to finish strong. If we can hit our donation goal, we’ll have the resources we need to urge Congress to pass universal background checks. You can see how important this is, which is why we have to ask: [Will you chip in $3 to help us urge Congress to pass universal background checks? Your donation will be put right to work in our upcoming efforts to organize and build support for this lifesaving bill.]( If you've stored your info with ActBlue, we'll process your contribution instantly: [Donate $10]( [Donate $25]( [Donate $50]( [Donate $100]( [Donate $250]( [Other amount]( During the pandemic we’ve seen an unprecedented rise in the number of guns sold in the United States. Inflammatory language by people like Majorie Taylor Greene has stoked fear and anger in individuals who might seek to do us and our democracy harm. We need to act quickly to make sure that guns do not end up in the hands of people who shouldn’t have them. Every donation we receive goes directly to our fight against preventable gun violence. If we can meet our February goal, we’ll head into March with enough resources to urge Congress to pass universal background checks and send it to President Biden’s desk as soon as possible. When the background checks bill is introduced, we’ll be in touch with ways you can help get it passed. Thank you in advance for your continued support, Team Giffords [DONATE NOW]( --------------------------------------------------------------- This email was sent to {EMAIL}.
