While it's important to notice and evaluate the copy around you, hand-copying the ads is not going to get you very far in terms of improving your copywriting skills. Their answers prove that pitching really isn't that scary or really that weird—you just may get some responses you have to move on from Stuart: "It wasn't necessarily weird, but I got an automated reply to one of my pitches saying they'd stopped using email as a primary communication method and to unsubscribe him from future emails." Ashley: "A client called me too expensive. No problem—it was back to my pitch list!" Stacy: "I put together a quote for a client and they came back saying it was way outside what they could afford (and this is when I was severely underpricing). I said no problem and to reach out of their budget ever changed. They then asked if I ever do pro bono work. As you can imagine, we never had the chance to work together." Abigail: "I had a discovery call with an agency, was told my rates were too high for their client but was then asked if I'd ever want to take on work for the agency instead. I basically held two discovery calls in one!" CCA students know they can always book a 1/1 coaching call with any of the coaches for even more support. 🎉CCA Student Wins Congratulations on the position, James!
