You tell me…) Now, the first thing I should do on such an auspicious occasion is come clean ... While you’re (likely) reading this on Veteran’s Day, I’m writing it on Thursday… halfway to Boston according to the little screen in my seat. Yeah, I’m kinda breaking my own rule and throwing an event on Veteran’s Day. If you’ve been getting my emails for any length of time, then you know I’m not a big fan of Veteran’s Day sales and the like. Now, that don’t mean I don’t honor and celebrate Veterans; far from it. I think it cheapens their service and sacrifice to use the occasion to hawk mattresses or DVD players (do people still buy those?), or even CBD. Plenty of good opportunities for a sale any other day of the year (and you KNOW Uncle Tommy loves a good sale…) So, why am I writing this email from the First Class cabin on this Boeing 757? (It’s a hard life, but someone’s gotta live it…) Well, mostly because it’s a 6 hour flight and you can only watch Miss Congeniality so many times before it starts to lose some of its charm… (No hate to Benjamin Bratt. That man’s a treasure…) But also because Cheech and I are gearing up for a jam-packed weekend of in-person parties and appearances, including, yes, a big Grand Opening party on Veteran’s Day. See, we planned a big party in Boston on Friday, November 10th months in advance, celebrating the launch of our High & Dry drinks. The drinks have been going gangbusters and so we’re flying out to celebrate and share the love. And then, the timing on our ALL-NEW Dispensorias in Massachusetts (that we’ve ALSO been working on for months…) worked out so that they’d be ready to open on the SAME WEEKEND. We looked at the calendar, saw the date of 11/11 and said “You know, that feels like a sign!” And, maybe it is. (I’d like to think so.) But it wasn’t till all the details were planned that we realized “Hey, that’s Veteran’s Day, isn’t it?” Big oversight on our part. Now, this may be a technicality, but it turns out Massachusetts state law prohibits “sales” and “discounts” at cannabis dispensaries… So technically, I’m still NOT throwing a sale on Veteran’s Day (technically). I could spend the rest of this little dispatch talking about how much good cannabis and CBD do for Veterans struggling with PTSD… Or I could talk about how dispensaries are symbols of the very freedom our brave men and women in uniform fight to protect… Or I could opine on the inherent symbolism of celebrating Veteran's Day in Massachusetts, where this whole crazy Revolution started... I could do all of those things, but I won’t. I’ll just say that amid all the chaos and celebrating on Saturday, I’m going to find time to take a moment to thank and remember our brave veterans. And I’m sure I’ll get the chance to thank one or two in person, which will be nice. In any event, I hope you have an amazing day today. (Well, Saturday, the day you’re reading it… You know what I mean). I hope your Veteran’s Day is happy (and a little more relaxed than mine…) I hope you get the chance to thank a Veteran for their service. And if you are one, then THANK YOU from Uncle Tommy. And if you’re a Veteran, I want to hear from you: What do YOU wish people would do for Veteran’s Day? What would be the ideal Veteran’s Day for you? I’ll catch you next week with a recap from our trip, (hoping it goes well!) and a few other fun announcements. Until then, Keep on Keepin’ on. Peace and Love,   [Tommy Signature] Tommy Chong  P.S. -- If you’re coming to the Dispensoria today, please make sure you come say hi. The party promises to be a real riot. Hope to see you there.      [Facebook]( [Instagram]( Don't Want These Emails? All Good Man! Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
