After last week's note about Cheech and his birthday (the BIG 77), you all FLOODED our inbox with so many birthday wishes, kind words, and fun memories for Cheech's birthday. And boy were they fantastic! Both Cheech and I had a grand old time reading through them all. It was the next best thing to having a big ol' party with all of you there in person! Here are some of our favorite messages: Happy Birthday Cheech! This is Billy O’Drobinak (Billy O), I was your A camera operator on Race to Witch Mountain and War With Grandpa! My favorite memories with you on set were that you always brought a positive vibe with you and you share that love. Won’t forget it! . . . and I regret not cornering you to ‘ceremonialize’ 😉 with this 65 year old hippie who would have relished that moment! -William O. Hey, Billy O! We remember those days, man. Thanks for that blast from the past. Cheech sends his love and positive vibes right back at ya. Now, about that ‘ceremonializing'...next time, man, next time! Hi Uncle Tommy, Please say Happy Birthday to Cheech for me - Should I say Happy Birthday to “Dave” as well? Oh, I remember this as if it was yesterday: It was in 1972, I was a computer operator by myself on the third shift (3:00 am) in this huge computer room and was listening to CHOM FM, (The Spirit of Montréal) when they played the “Dave’s thing”. OH MY GOD! I really needed that good laugh that knight and from then on I was hooked on Cheech and Chong for ever. Especially now, he, he, he. Thank you for the reminder and you have my blessings to publish this great memory of mine, if it’s good enough. -Cousin Richard. Haha, Richard, thanks for that most welcome blast from the past man... Not everyone knows this, but Dave was a real guy. He's not with us anymore (one of the main drawbacks to getting older is losing the people we love...) But it's pretty damn cool that in a way his memory gets to live on forever... Always glad to remind you of the good ol' days. Happy Birthday Cheech!!! Just gotta say, I love the guy for who he is. But love him even more now since I found out we share the same birthday. Raise a glass for us!! Peace and love to all at Casa Chong. -Alan T. Happy belated and shared birthday, Alan! It's always a treat to find out about birthday twins. Happy Birthday to Cheech! May good health, long life and great joy be yours. It is always a gift and pleasure to see Cheech (and Tommy) on film and television. The entertainment you provide is a blessing to so many. Thank you so much for sharing yourselves with us. And you’re both still pretty darned cute! God bless you, -Laura T Laura, you're too sweet! I passed this onto Cheech (and you made both of us blush a little, I must admit). We'll keep entertaining as long as you all keep following along! And there were so many more fantastic messages - thank you to each and every one of you who took the time to send in your birthday wishes for our hermano Cheech. We may not all be in the same place, but it's these memories and laughs that bring us closer together. And that's what it's all about man.
