You know what's been bugging me a lot lately? Inflation. First, I've always thought that "inflation" is a bit of a lie⦠I mean, it's true that everything is getting more expensive, but the real issue is that the average income for Americans isn't keeping up with the rising costs! The other day, a friend sent me [this article from a site called The Hustle]( about how America's favorite outings are becoming harder for the average family to afford â and this was written BEFORE the pandemic! The example they use is baseball games.... Apparently, it now costs 3-4 times more than it used to for a family of 4 to go out and enjoy the game once you factor in ticket prices, parking, snacks, and all that jazz. (And it's even worse if you want to buy a hat or a t-shirt or one of those little mini helmet ice cream bowls.. heaven forbid!) The article mentions that "family outings have increased in cost at 2-3x the rate of inflation â and that, in order to afford them, today's American families have to work up to 2x as many hours as they did 60 years ago." Man, when I think about what these young folks are dealin' with these days, it really bums me out! Back in the 50s and 60s, a blue collar worker could have a regular job and still afford a house, a car, and take the family to the movies, a baseball game, or even Disneyland. Nowadays, one day at the park and a night at their hotel can set you back over $1K! It's a real shame⦠I've got a lot more to say about this, but what I really wanted to share is that it's inspired me to push for another sale for ya.
