But your Uncle Tommy conveniently "skipped" a pretty important day. Can you guess what it is? ... Giving Tuesday! Now, believe it or not, this was intentional. First, in case you're not familiar, Giving Tuesday is another one of these new-fangled, made-up holidays - just like Black Friday. It's celebrated the day after "Cyber Monday", and the whole idea is to balance out the crazy consumerism of Black Friday with a day dedicated to giving back. Now here at Casa Chong, this is one of our favorite days. We're ALL for giving back wherever we can... and we do love donating to people in need this time of year especially. But we "skipped" Giving Tuesday because we had an idea about a way we could give back even MORE. (You may have already noticed what we're doing instead...) Here's the rundown: I don't know about you, but I'm finding myself at stores often right now. Buying groceries to make holiday treats with Shelby...starting some present shopping...buying Christmas lights and decorations and stuff like that. And there's something cool I've been seeing a lot more lately. When you go to check out and you're chatting up the clerk (or vice versa), they might ask you if you want to “round up” your total so the extra can be donated to a charity. Now I always say yes, because of course I can spare a dollar or two to support a good cause! But it gave me the idea to do something similar here at Casa Chong….'cept the more I thought about it, the more the "Round Up" model didn't make any sense. Cuz hey, I'm the rich guy here! So I got together with the boys down at the office, and we came up with a way for you to give back this season if you shop with us - without taking any extra money out of your pocket.
