About the Speakers
Julia Cheek, CEO and founder, EverlyWell
Julia is the CEO and founder of EverlyWell, the next-generation health-testing platform empowering consumers to order, self-collect, and understand lab tests. Prior to founding EverlyWell in 2015, Julia was the VP of corporate development and strategy at MoneyGram International, a public financial services company that operates in 200 countries. After attending Vanderbilt, Julia started her career in management consulting at Deloitte and went on to earn her MBA from the Harvard Business School, where she graduated as a Baker Scholar with high distinction. She also is a former multiple World Champion equestrian, officially retiring in 2009.
Reginald Baptiste, MD, director of pre-health professions, Dell Medical School
Reginald grew up in Houston and went on to major in biology at UT Austin and earn an MD from Baylor College. He completed his residency in general surgery along with a cardiothoracic residency at University of Texas Health Science Center @ San Antonio. Reginald has been in private practice (performing cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery) for 20 years and holds an appointment at Dell Medical School as the director of pre-health professions.
Ryan Reynolds, senior account executive, Aunt Bertha
Ryan is a senior Account Executive at Aunt Bertha, a public benefit corporation. Founded in Austin, Aunt Bertha works toward its mission to âConnect all people in need and the programs that serve them (with dignity and ease).â Originally hailing from Boston, Ryan made the move to Austin three years ago to assist in building a sales office for automated functional and performance testing software. Following that, he decided to make a change in the way he delivered impact to focus on assisting under-served and low-income communities across the United States.
Zach Childers, PhD, linguist, NarrativeDx
Zach, is a linguist at NarrativeDx with a doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin. He specializes in linguistic technology and, in particular, the application of machine learning and artificial intelligence to problems of natural language processing. His focus is on the analysis of experiential natural language texts in the health care industry with the aim of improving the patient experience.
