Minkonet's Swing technology will accelerate the influx of the live gaming 360 VR contents into the social media platforms. Swing's capturing algorithm and Swing360 rendering service are the true enabler to broadcast VR and mobile games live in 360 VR for the platforms. [Photo] Alex Teodorescu-Badia, Senior Product Manager at Microsoftテ「ツツ冱 Gaming division discusses how he and his team are working to build the best platform for indie game developers on Windows devices, including PCs, Xbox and Windows Holographic. Q. Could you briefly introduce yourself and your role at Microsoft, and how you help game developers publish on Windows 10? Does your role both cover traditional PC development and the Windows store? [Photo] Alex Teodorescu-Badia: My role is to lead Microsoftテ「ツツ冱 developer platform efforts in reaching out to indie game developers for Windows 10 devices. On every device powered by Windows 10, like PCs, tablets, Xbox consoles and Microsoft Holographic, I work with the right engineering teams to make sure indie game devs have the best tools and ecosystem to be successful. Sometimes this just means listening to indie devs to understand what theyテ「ツツ决e missing on a particular platform テ「ツツ a ton of my time is spent going to game developer events and talking to devs to understand what they need, and then bringing those needs back to Microsoft so we can make sure Windows 10 is the best place to build games. A big focus for us has been on the openness of the Universal Windows Platform as part of [Windows 10 Anniversary Update] in August 2016 in terms of distribution, [installation], and commerce. We want to make it easier than ever before to create multi-device apps and games that can be deployed through Windows Store or alternative distributions methods. Q. With the recent announcement of Xbox Play Anywhere, can you elaborate on how game developers can now expect to develop simultaneously for Windows 10 and Xbox? Alex Teodorescu-Badia: The great thing about Xbox One consoles is that theyテ「ツツ决e powered by Windows 10 テ「ツツ at heart the same OS that powers high-end gaming PCs or Surface Pro tablets. Developing for the Universal Windows Platform (UWP) is what allows developers to create apps and games simultaneously for different types of Windows 10 devices while scaling seamlessly to either the desktop, tablet, or comfy couch play experience via Xbox One. Weテ「ツツ况e been promoting UWP as the future of game development on Windows and consoles for a while now, but itテ「ツツ冱 really taken for exciting proof points like Xbox Play Anywhere to make the benefits of multi-device development really obvious. Our goal is to provide the platform for game developers to bring games to their fans wherever they want to play, and without having to worry about needing to get the same game from multiple places. With the availability of [UWP Dev Mode] for Xbox One, itテ「ツツ冱 now incredibly easy for any developer to write & test games for Xbox One by simply converting their Xbox to a UWP dev kit and deploying code from any machine running Visual Studio. The same approaches used for developing Windows 10 games are now straightforward to use & test on Xbox consoles.
