Both teams currently practice in outdated spaces in need of upgrading. The Avalanche have trained in a public two-rink facility, Family Sports, in Centennial since the late 1990s. The Nuggets have just one practice court available inside Ball Arena. Jared Polis, along with several state legislators, introduced a comprehensive set of nine bills designed to address Colorado's workforce shortage.
