[Colorado Springs, surrounding areas break record temperatures Monday]( Areas of southern Colorado felt the heat Monday as the month winds down to an end, breaking records with more heat to come as October kicks off this week. In Colorado Springs, the high temperature reached 91 degrees, beating the previous record of 87 degrees set in 2019. According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, Monday's high is nearly 20 degrees above normal for this time of year.
