If you believe me, you will be rewarded. If you don't believe me, I will make it worth your while to change your mind. Let me explain. Len is a friend of mine who has an eye for good products. One day, he called excited about a pair of sunglasses he owned. "It's incredible", he said. "When you first look through a paid, you won't believe it!" "What will I see?" I asked. "What could be so incredible?" Len continued... "When you put on these glasses, your vision improves. Objects appear sharper, more defined. Everything takes on an enhanced 3D effect. And it's not my imagination... I just want you to see for yourself" ​ Couldn't Believe Eyes ​ When I received the sunglasses and put them on, I couldn't believe my eyes. I kept taking them off and putting them on to see if indeed what I was seeing was sharper... Or if my imagination was playing tricks on me. But my vision improved! It was obvious. I kept putting on my cherished $100 pair of sunglasses and comparing them. They didn't compare. I was very impressed. Everything appeared sharper, more defined, and indeed had a greater 3D look to it. But what did this product do that made my vision so much better? I found out. ... .. . THAT, {NAME}, is the intro to one of the most impactful sales letters of all time... The late, great Joe Sugarman's famous "BluBlockers" ad. It was originally written in 1987... And this ONE sales letter single-handedly launched a multimillion-dollar company that eventually sold 20 million pairs of sunglasses! Imagine that... ​ 20 MILLION pairs sold ​ Hundreds of millions of dollars generated... All with a single, high-impact sales letter. Why was it so incredibly effective? Well... There are a myriad of reasons... (Most of which I covered in great detail when I broke it down [in this video]() But here's one mentioned by Joe himself in his famous "Adweek Copywriting Handbook": “People love stories. And one of the really good ways to relate to your prospects is to tell a story. Just as a picture is worth a thousand words, a story can be invaluable and often creates an emotional relationship or bond that keeps prospects riveted and listening.” And that's exactly what Joe did when starting this sales letter. (And what I did when starting this email!) That's the power of a well-told story... And that's ALSO the power of a well-written sales letter. If you can learn how to wield it yourself... ​ You'll become unstoppable ​ (especially in today's soulless marketing climate!) And the best way I know of to really master storytelling? (along with other similar persuasion techniques) Go and study proven sales letters written by old-school master copywriters. Why "old-school"? Because that way, you can go back to the Source... And witness their persuasion prowess in FULL detail... Without being forced to consume basically the same information in a "dumbed-down" version rehashed by {INSERT GURU OF THE MONTH}. Look... I've analyzed thousands of modern-day sales letters... And thousands of old-school sales letters. And wanna know the honest truth? ​ Old-school sales letters are overlooked "Goldmines" ​ They're usually better than their modern-day counterparts. (not always, but in most cases) They're sharper, more focused, and generally have punchier writing. Now... Please don't misunderstand me: I'm NOT saying you can just "swipe" a 50-year-old sales letter... Copy/paste it onto your website... And automatically generate millions of dollars. It doesn't work like that :) (due to several reasons) What I AM saying is that the fundamental persuasion principles are clearest to see and learn from in those old-school letters! It's not "diluted" with all sorts of added BS. Instead, you can see validated and proven examples of what TIMELESS hooks... Which -- when adapted to today's marketing landscape -- undoubtedly gives you an unfair advantage. ​ It's like a powerful "secret weapon" none of your competitors know about... ​ ...because all they care about is the latest "whiz-bang" stuff :)) But guess what? Whiz-bang ain't always good. In fact, relying on it too much can be a fool's errand. So that's why I honestly believe studying old-school sales letters written by great masters is still worth it.
