Every once in a while, some low-IQ guru wannabe gets the bright idea that long-form copy doesn't work anymore. Their reasoning? Something along the lines of: "In the age of TikTok, nobody consumes long-form content anymore" ...or... "People are lazy and they all want instant gratification" ...or... "Long-form copy USED to work when there were fewer distractions, but it doesn't work anymore on smartphones" ...or my favorite... "People's attention spans are 3-4 seconds nowadays. That's less than a goldfish!" Well... Although that *might* be true in some cases... Here's a question for you: Do you want a business full of goldfish... Or customers? What's that? You want "goldfish" with 3-4 second attention spans???!! By all means... be my guest :) I'm sure you're going to have A LOT of fun running and growing that business ;) BUT... If you want people who actually DO something... (like read your stuff, click your links, and buy your offers) Then I'd say you want actual customers, instead of goldfish. And you know what actual customers do BEFORE... actually becoming customers? (okay, okay... enough with all these "Actual"s!) Well... They ACTUALLY Okay, okay... no more "Actual"... Jeeez louise! Anyway... Where was I? Oh yeah... Before people act... become customers, they first consume your content... They gradually start to Know, Like, and Trust you... And they slowly start to believe that YES, your solution is different and superior compared to anything else they've seen before. And once they believe that so-called "One Buying Belief", you got 'em. (in a good way) However, this DOES NOT reliably happen without them consuming your stuff. If you only give them short-form copy, this deeper bonding will never happen! So that's one of the primary reasons why long-copy still WORKS. (and will continue to work until we're all transformed into androids by AI) Still don't believe me? Let me PROVE it to you! Here are just a handful of replies I've gotten to the 3rd email in my imprinting sequence in the last few days alone... ...A 2338-word (!) monster of an email that shares my story! And notice what people say in their replies: "Well, THAT was a refreshingly interesting email that I can relate to. Very nice. I will now go look at some of your Youtube videos, and yes, please continue to email me...for now, lol. Be well, Amy" "refreshingly interesting email" --> Despite being almost 8 pages (!) long "Hi Csaba Your story is interesting. Thanks for sharing. You are gladly welcome in my inbox. Looking forward to reading and learning from some of your best stuff. -Pitso" "Your story is interesting" --> Why? Because I shared all the nitty-gritty in great detail "Hi, Csaba. I'm replying so your email service can mark me as an engaged subscriber. I have not worked on my email sequence yet. But plan on reading all your emails and the great book soon. Loved your thank you page!! Learned a lot already just by watching you. Thank you! Sylvia" "Learned a lot already just by watching you" --> If that doesn't build KLT, I don't know what does! "Hi Csaba, and thanks for your material. I "know" you since last year and I have used your -what I will call- copy summary sheet. It's beneficial. And I knew your project of analyzing the classic ads. I appreciate your work and wish you the best. My name may sound familiar. My son emailed you last year too. Best wishes from Greece Stamatios PS: Are you orthodox? I wonder because I can't recognize your name. It doesn't mean something bad if you aren't, but I can't avoid telling you that I'd be glad if you were. Notice the deeper level of bonding already happening! And although I'm not orthodox, it's still a nice gesture on his part But here's probably my favorite from this batch: "Hello, Csaba, Greetings from Serbia. I just read your email and I liked the story of how you changed your life with copywriting. Thank you for sharing your story with me and even bigger thanks for the Ultimate Guide you provided to me. It means a lot to me since I'm learning about copywriting every single day, 2-3 hours per day and I'm still not sure how and from where to start. I know how you felt back then because RIGHT NOW I'm in a similar situation. I'm struggling financially, I've been jobless since the end of October, and I spent all the savings I had. The difference between your story and mine is that I got fired. I was working remotely as a Customer&Seller support agent at eBay... I did my job well, gave my best, improved from the junior to the team leader position, payment was awesome for Balkan standards ($3,2 k)... but once they realized I was too expensive, they replaced me (now some cheap employee from the Philippines who works for no more than $150)... Since the middle of December, I've had 2-3 job appointments a week, but I still haven't got a new job (I think that the reason is I started looking desperate, thinking about who to ask to borrow some money for apartment rent, bills, food). So I'm also starting to feel hopeless. I'm sorry for bothering you with my situation, I just found myself in your story and I sincerely replied to it. I will study the guide I got from you and look for the courses for the technical skills needed to become a copywriter. Thank you for all your time and effort. Greetings, Aleksandar" Notice all the personal bonding and "opening up" that's already happening. "Thank you for sharing your story with me" "The difference between your story and mine" "I just found myself in your story and I sincerely replied to it." Sure... This guy probably couldn't afford my coaching or my paid products right now... But do you think he feels much more like he Knows, Likes, and Trusts me compared to NOT receiving this long-form 2338-word (!) monster of an email? The answer is clear. I rest my case. Enjoy the rest of your day! -Csaba ALSO, Here are a few ways I can help you, whenever you're ready... 1.
