It seems like [my last email]() resonated more deeply with people than I expected... So I figured it'd be useful to continue the conversation because it holds a particularly important marketing/life lesson. If you haven't read that email yet (you should), here's the super high-level: We all tend to struggle with focusing on what REALLY moves the needle in business and life... And the biggest resistance to this doesn't come from surface-level distractions... (like bad time management, playing too many video games, or prioritizing the wrong tasks) But DEEPER subconscious motivators like: --Intentionally sabotaging my growth due to unconscious forces --Emotional "hang-ups" and "blocks" around money and/or self-esteem --Repressed feelings that "kill" motivation for certain things, often to protect the Ego And the worst part? Even IF we realize this... we still tend to subjugate ourselves to these "demons" (or whatever you wanna call them) And apparently... I'm not the only one struggling with these things. Check out what this subscriber had to say about it: "This absolutely resonated! I suspect that you’ll get a ton of replies. I’ve been feeling so unmotivated after the summer, not sending emails, not focusing on revenue-generating activities. Like you I’ve had time management issues and lack of clear priorities. Part of it is also that I haven’t been actively growing my list for at least six months, so net growth is negative. This stems from an ads campaign that attracted a lot of leads that weren’t a good fit at all (reporting me for spam, sending quite unpleasant replies etc.). So yeah, great timing for this email! It’s kinda nice to know others struggle too (sorry!) and also it helps increase self awareness. Thanks 🙏" -H or this "Awesome email Csaba! I really identify with the dig, deeper, deeper deeper part. I truly believe that is the root of all those issues you talked about that I see in myself as well." -R or even this "Completely understand the feeling, and am going through something similar at the moment trying to build my agency." -N or my favorite "You also gave all of us a glimpse into your life…thank you…you ARE human!" -C Now... I could go on and on, sharing more responses with you... But here's the lesson in all this: We're all (imperfect) humans... trying our best to do what we believe is right. And yet... Despite our best efforts... we still often end up failing... disappointing ourselves (and often others) in the process. But you know what? It's OK. That's called "Human". And unless you're actively sabotaging your life so that it looks like a never-ending trainwreck... (in which case, you should get some therapy ASAP!) Sharing your more "vulnerable" moments in addition to boasting about your wins will build a surprising amount of emotional rapport with other people! Just like my last email built emotional rapport (and generated quite a number of replies) with subscribers on my list. And sure... I know this may go against every so-called "professional marketing/selling training" out there... But give it a try, and you'll be surprised how well it works ;) Especially in 2023... in an age of AI... where it's harder than ever to distinguish truth from reality. People don't want more fake bullshit... They want Honest and Real. Still... The force is still strong with the "classic professional way". Like... After I sent out the last email, and told my wife about it (who's a therapist), her first reaction was: "Buuuut... aren't you afraid you'll look weak and unprofessional... and this will cost you sales because of that?!" And I was like: "Oh.... my sweet, sweet, Summer child... Despite being married for 2.5 years... and knowing each other for 7... you STILL don't realize how much more relatable being honest and vulnerable is compared to keeping up the image of a "professional"?? This will ultimately result in MORE sales (while also building more trust in the process)" Something to think about... Cheers, -Csaba "keepin' it real" Borzasi P.S. -- And speaking of "keepin' it real": If you're a high-paid coach, consultant, or expert (or you'd like to become one)...
