{NAME}, Do you ever find yourself stuck in a loop of repetitive thoughts? You know... When your mind keeps churning out the same ideas over and over and over again? You know what this feels like... Pretty much like a broken record playing the same old tune. So if you tend to feel this way and you'd like to escape this vicious "loop"... Then I've got some good news for you, my friend... Because I've recently started practicing a ridiculously simple... but deceptively effective technique that can BREAK the wheel that cycle... And inject some fresh new energy into your thinking process! This simple technique is called... Freewriting And it's a kickass brain-training exercise that's perfect for coming up with new and exciting ideas. (even if you're struggling with generating ideas) It's basically a simple way to tap into your natural creativity... without even trying. You see... Just as your body knows how to breathe automatically, your mind also knows how to be creative on its own... ...IF you let it do its job. Problem is... We usually DON'T let it do its job 😅 So before you can fully embrace the wonders of freewriting... You might need to bid farewell to a few habits that routinely hinder your creative flow. Things like: -- Beating yourself up when you're struggling to be creative -- Self-judgement of your work when you're in the process of creating it -- And frequently stopping to edit your work or "correct mistakes" while you're in the "brain dump" phase Believe it or not... Writing and editing use vastly different parts of your mind... so you need to separate the 2 tasks if you really wanna be successful with this. And that's exactly what freewriting can help you with. To transition from writing with effort and overthinking... ...to writing effortlessly and without excessive self-judgment. It's about letting go of the notion of what you're "supposed" to write... and giving your imagination the freedom to run wild. Trust me... When you set your creativity loose, amazing things can happen! Now, let's get down to the nitty-gritty of how to actually freewrite. (Don't worry, it's as easy as pie!) Step #1: Choose a time limit that works for you. It can be as short as five minutes or as long as half an hour. Whatever floats your boat. I personally set this to 7 minutes in the morning after I wake up. (why? because there's NO EXCUSE this way... anyone can find 7 minutes in their day to do this) Step #2 Grab a trusty pen (or position your fingers on that keyboard) I personally like to write this out by hand... But if you prefer the keyboard, then that's fine too. (although I'd probably vouch for handwriting) Step #3: Write continuously without pausing or censoring yourself until the time is up Yepp, that's pretty much it. (I told you it was super simple 😃) HOWEVER... It's really, really important that you write continuously NO MATTER WHAT. ...even if you feel like you've lost your thought ...even if you feel like your writing is shit ...and even if what you're writing doesn't really make coherent sense It doesn't HAVE to! That's the whole point of this exercise: To get rid of all that "junk" in your mind... so that your better ideas can start to flow. It's a bit like when copywriters start a sales letter with copy that's "meeh"... and they actually "bury the lead" 2 pages in. It happens all the time! So just do it, please. Don't fret about the topic or subject matter... You don't need to have a "grand plan" in mind before you begin. Just let your thoughts flow naturally. Start with any thought or phrase that pops into your head... And watch as the ideas take shape on the page 🙂 It's gonna feel like embarking on an exciting adventure with no map or destination in mind. And that's the real beauty of freewriting: Giving "space" to your ideas so that they will find their way to you. And you'd be surprised how quickly this can happen... IF you just trust the process. So remember... The quality of your writing doesn't matter during freewriting. Let me repeat that again because it's that important: The quality of your writing does NOT matter during freewriting. It's not about crafting a flawless masterpiece... Or impressing anyone with your copywriting prowess... Instead, the magic lies in the act of continuous writing -- no matter how messy or repetitive it may seem. Just embrace the freedom to write without self-judgment Because -- as people much wiser than me like to say -- it's ALL about the journey, not the destination. And the best part? As you immerse yourself in the rhythm of your writing... You might notice something remarkable happening! It's as if your mind enters a state of calm... much like the soothing sway of a train lulling you to sleep. And this "motion" creates a momentum that frees you from the shackles of self-doubt and critical thinking. It opens the door to the hidden treasures buried deep within your mind. In fact... Freewriting lets you be your authentic self... unfiltered and unedited... And it reveals the themes, words, colors, and stories that have been patiently waiting for their moment in the spotlight. It's just like discovering a hidden garden of ideas, bursting with vibrant blooms and endless possibilities. (look at how vivid my writing is today haha... is it because of freewriting? Could very well be 😁) Essentially... Each word you write is a step closer to unearthing the gems that were previously obscured. So simply imagine freewriting as a simple tool that tunes you into the frequency of fresh ideas and inspiration. And it even bypasses the self-consciousness that often plagues journal writing. Now, don't get me wrong... Journals serve the purpose of recording and reflecting on thoughts and experiences... But freewriting is a bit different... Because -- instead of writing about your day -- it encourages you to silence that inner critic and focus on what truly excites you. So why not give this a try yourself, {NAME}? Just grab a pen... A notebook (or piece of paper)... Let your thoughts "dance" across the page with enthusiasm... ...So that you can unearth those hidden treasures buried within 😊 Freewriting is YOUR passport to a world of endless creativity. Are you ready to take the plunge? Give it a try... and then hit reply and let me know how it goes. I'd LOVE to hear about your experience with this!
