Hey {NAME}, Warm greetings from Malta... I'm on holiday this week and there's something on my mind that I wanted to share with you. You see... Lately, I've been thinking whether it's "OK" to just sit back and relax for 1 or 2 weeks without doing any significant business-related stuff. You know, turning off "hustle-mode"... Spending less time in my inbox... Putting the act of refining my copy chops on hold... Stuff like that. On the surface, thinking about these things doesn't really seem that important... (or something that deserves its own email) But as I was laying on a secluded beach today after an intense snorkeling session - just thinking about life and stuff - I realized that this IS something that needs to be talked about... ...Especially in the world of "Hustle Culture". You see... Most entrepreneurs and freelancers live under the impression that -- if you want to achieve anything in life -- you HAVE to sacrifice everything and out-work everyone... Until you get what you want through your own blood, sweat, and tears. (Sometimes literally!) And if you can't perform 110% all the time?! Well, tough luck, my friend... Then you're a "loser" and you should just go ahead and give up... Or stop complaining and do something about it, pronto. ^ ^ THESE are some of the things that a lot of "gurus" preach from their Ivory Towers. They like to shame you for acting like a real-life flesh & blood human being who needs to take a break from time to time... And this obnoxious mentality is actually causing a lot of pain and suffering among entrepreneurial-minded people. I mean... I have so many friends who haven't been on a vacation in YEARS because they're terrified they'll "lose everything" if they slack off for a few weeks. They think that EVERYTHING is going to go the SH*T if they take a break... And their carefully-built business is going to crumble and they'll never be able to achieve anything in life again. OK - I'm dramatizing a bit here... But you'd be surprised how many people actually feel like this deep down inside. How do I know? Because I also used to constantly feel like this. I still do, from time to time. (like how I was thinking about this exact thing on the beach today) However, nowadays, I'm way more "forgiving" with myself if I slack off a bit. And you know what? In 99% of cases, there's absolutely NO difference in my business results whether I take a week-long break or not. In fact, sometimes the overall results are even better! That's because a holiday like this gives my brain time to "reset"... And my subconscious mind has enough time to "catch up" to all the conscious self-development that I've been doing. And that's a super underrated thing. Anyway... I guess my big takeaway for today's email is this: Don't be ashamed of taking a break and relaxing for a bit, even if you're building something big. Your body, soul, and mind need it... And nothing bad is going to happen, I promise :) Have a fantastic day, -Csaba P.S. -- Have you ever felt like skipping a week or two from building your business is going to demolish the progress you've made so far?
