Yesterday I sent out an email with the subject line: "34 things I've learned in 34 years "...

Yesterday I sent out an email with the subject line: "34 things I've learned in 34 years (PART I)"... [(here's the link if you haven't read it yet)]( And since it got so many positive responses, now it's time for Part II. Here we go... 12 - Healthy Body, Healthy Mind, Healthy Soul It's true. If you want to have a balanced, happy life... you can't just neglect any of the above. Unfortunately, most people do... (Especially the hustling entrepreneurial types) And as a result, they often work so much... and live such a stressful life that they end up completely neglecting their bodies. But here's the ugly truth: you can't get away with it forever... Eventually, your hectic work-life balance with get to you... and it won't be pretty. Don't let it get to that. 13 - It's exceptionally difficult to change someone's core beliefs If you study copywriting, you'll eventually discover that in order for someone to do something, you need to instill a "One New Belief" in them. Mark Ford (also known as Michael Masterson) talks a lot about this... And if you know how to properly use this strategy, you'll be able to write your own Golden Ticket. But what about core beliefs? Deep beliefs that decide things like: ...Conservative vs. Liberal ...Religious vs. Atheist ...Pro-vaccine vs. Anti-vaccine In my experience, these types of beliefs are exceptionally hard to change (especially when trying to do it with facts!) The only way to stand a chance is to lay down your arms... try to embrace the other's point of view... and be empathetic. This is super hard to do in real life... ESPECIALLY when dealing with a loved one... But it's the only way that has a chance of working. 14 - Intermittent Fasting Works I've been doing intermittent fasting for the last 3+ years, and I'm still enjoying it. I mean, what's not to like? I have more energy in the mornings... I save tons of time, effort, and money on breakfast... And overall, I feel healthier because of it. In fact, I usually go to the gym around 1-2 pm... on an empty stomach! I know most people would nail me to a cross if they heard that... but works well for me. You might want to read more about it and maybe give it a try... you'd be pleasantly surprised :) 15 - Taking *calculated* risks is actually safer than not taking risks at all I grew up in a family that's as risk-averse as you can imagine. It makes total sense... After 50+ years of Soviet occupation, people simply realized that the best way to survive in a brutal dictatorship is to lay low, and don't get any attention. Or in other words, don't take any risks. While this was a great survival strategy back then... Nowadays, it's a surefire way to fail... especially if you're pursuing an entrepreneurial career. But taking CALCULATED risks will give you the upper hand in life. For example: >> Long-term dollar-cost-averaging into an index fund like the S&P500 >> Creating evergreen authority-building content >> Building systems that allow you to create "almost passive income" These are all things I consider "calculated risks"... but they all turn into valuable assets in the long run. 16 - Being a non-native English speaker does NOT mean you can't be successful in an English-speaking market Just look at me... I'm an ethnic Hungarian who was born and raised in the Transylvania region of Romania in a lower-middle-class family. And yet... Here I am, writing you this email in English... talking about things like copywriting, marketing, and business. I'm still able to give you tons of value, despite these "limitations". So please don't try to hide behind the veil of: "But I can't do that because of X, Y, Z..." You absolutely can. The only question is... do you actually want to? 17 - Storytelling is still arguably the best way to sell in 2022 When it comes to human nature, nothing's really changed in the last 50,000 years. We're still tribal creatures... We're still (mostly) motivated by our emotions... And our minds are still hard-wired for stories. And yet... most people have a hard time coming up with stories that are intriguing and have the power to keep our attention for more than 10 minutes. It's no wonder when I polled my audience about the topics they'd like me to include in my upcoming advanced copywriting program, Storytelling was right at the top of the list! (along with Customer Research, Leads, and Unique Mechanism) So I'll definitely make this a core part of the new program. 18 - Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you respond to it It's true... Most suffering in the world is caused by how people actually react to what happened to them. Due to their childhood traumas and "schemas", they often react irrationally / overreact to otherwise neutral events. The result? They end up with even deeper emotional wounds... lots of anger... fear... and hate. And then they often "pass on" this baggage to someone else -- most likely a loved one -- in their lives, compounding the problem. That's why Stoicism is so useful. It teaches you how to be less reactive and feel more liberated, regardless of what happens around you. Worth checking out. 19 - "Life isn't about finding yourself... It's about creating yourself" OK, this quote actually comes from George Bernard Shaw... But it still holds true. I'm including this insight here because lots of people believe that you can just "find your passion". But it doesn't really work like that... Instead, you gravitate towards things you put more energy into. The more you do it (fueled by internal motivation), the more likely you'll actually keep doing it. And the more successful you'll become at it. Simple as that. 20 - Consistently successful online businesses always play for the long run They don't get lost in 'clever' tactics and magic pill solutions. Instead, they constantly ask questions like: "How can I serve my customers better day after day, week after week?" "How can I discover what they truly want, and then simply give it to them?" And most importantly... "How can I make sure I keep doing this, even when it's tempting to no longer focus on it?" It's not easy to keep these things in mind. Life usually gets in the way... And then we lose our path... And then people start noticing it... And then eventually, your bottom line starts to take a hit. Unfortunately, this happens more often than you'd think - sooner or later (usually sooner). However, by being true to your audience's needs -- and to yourself -- you can differentiate yourself from your competition... And you can create value for everyone involved. Win-win. 21 - Authentic marketing will out-convert sleazy marketing in 2022 There's a reason why most people inherently hate marketing and selling... They think the ONLY way to sell is to use aggressive pitches, cheap tactics, and things like fake scarcity. Unfortunately, these tactics have decimated the reputation of the entire marketing industry in the eyes of an "Average Joe". But what if I told you that this "curse" is also kind of a blessing in disguise? Why? Because if you manage to do things only *slightly* differently in your marketing and sales messaging... You'll instantly put yourself head and shoulders above your competition! And you'll go from someone playing in the same league as countless others... to the TOP 1% entrepreneur in your field... The go-to expert that everybody trusts and values! And the person who can charge waaaay higher than their competition. Sounds pretty cool to me 😉 That's it for the 2nd email in the "34 things I've learned in 34 years" series. I'll send you the remaining 13 insights next week!
