[Latest Newsletter from GI](     03.10.2018 In addition to covering all of the most important news coming out of the video game industry, we do our best each week to bring you the most informative and entertaining previews, video features, and editorial content you won’t find anywhere else. Here are the biggest stories from the past week:       Top News Stories   [April Cover Revealed - Game Informer's 300th Issue]( by Game Informer Staff 27 years is a long time. For nearly three decades, Game Informer has made it its mission to inform the public about this thriving medium and the complex industry it's housed in. For our 300th issue, we sat down as a group for the sake of a massive undertaking: ranking the 300 greatest games of all time. We argued for weeks on the basis on historical significance, enjoyability, and of course that je ne sais quoi that just makes some games better than others to put together this list. The process was brutal, with passionate pleas for many of our favorite titles failing to make the cut, but in the end we emerged with what we feel as a group is the definitive list. ---------------------------------------------------------------   [Super Smash Bros. Announced For Switch In 2018]( by Imran Khan At the end of today's Nintendo Direct, the company revealed a short teaser video announcing a new Super Smash Bros. game for the Nintendo Switch. The video featured Inklings shooting and swimming through ink in a white void-like area mirroring the original Splatoon announcement trailer, though this eventually grows dark. The female inkling takes notice of the burning Super Smash Bros. logo - a circle with two intersecting lines - as a large crowd gathers in front. Quick flashes seem to show Breath of the Wild's Link and a quick cut to text. --------------------------------------------------------------- [Eight Takeaways From Our Hands-On With Labo]( by Kyle Hilliard We recently got to go hands-on with Labo, spending time popping its cardboard pieces out of templates, folding them together, playing with the compatible games, and looking at the surprisingly versatile Toy-Con garage. Since its debut, Nintendo has made it clear Labo is meant for the younger Switch player. In order to look at the product from a younger point of view, I brought my kindergartner to Nintendo's event to help me test out the strange craft/video game hybrid. Here are some of my takeaways from spending time with it myself, and watching a child spend time with it. [10 Tips To Help You Become A Great Overwatch Teammate]( by Andrew Reiner Are you tired of bouncing between silver and gold ranks in Competitive Play? Do your defensive stands always break down in Capture the Flag? No matter who you are teamed up with, does every match feel like a mess? Team chemistry is a necessity if you want to win in Overwatch, and it can be achieved in under five minutes if you know what you are doing. I'm going to give you 10 quick tips that should elevate your team play in just one match. People are going to love playing with you, so prepare for a flood of friend requests to come your way. These strategies are bulletproof, so no matter what you do, don't veer from the script. [Pit People Review - War And Laughter]( by Javy Gwaltney Let it never be said that indie developer The Behemoth hasn't carved out its own unique identity thanks to the studios blend of stylish art and offbeat humor. Following on the heels of Castle Crashers and BattleBlock Theater, Pit People channels the exaggerated art style of its predecessors while embracing a more strategic mode of gameplay. The result is a romp of a game that rewards you with hilarious jokes for dominating foes on the battlefield. - - [Visit GameInformer For More]( - [Visit GameInformer For More](       This Week’s Top Ten Must-Read Stories   - [Life is Strange: Before The Storm Complete Review - Weathering Life And Loss]( - [PlayStation 4: A Roundup Of Limited Editions]( - [Rainbow Six Siege Outbreak Is A Curious, But Entertaining Diversion]( - [H1Z1 Review - Solid Survival Shooting]( - [Vote For Your Favorite 300 Games Of All Time]( - [Way Of The Passive Fist Review - Straying From The Path]( - [Fear Effect Sedna Review - Dead On Revival]( - [The Station Review - Lifeless Space]( - [GI Show - Labo Hands-On, Ion Maiden, Robin Hunicke Interview]( - [Blog Herding - The Best Blogs Of The Community (March 8, 2018)]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Still craving the latest news? One such game he played was Heavy Rain. I actually really enjoyed that one, and ended up getting the best ending on my first play through, luckily. [Game-Making Challenge: Environmental Storytelling Challenge]( Haley Shipley is here to present us with a writing challenge (and creep me out with an image to a game I can't quite put my finger on). The goal this time is to create a game environment that is saturated. Deadline is March 23. Get to it! [Interview: Shape Of The World Creator Stu Maxwell]( Rebekah Lang gets things started (welcome back, Lang!) with an interview. It's super insightful, especially if you have any interest in game development, and of course, Shape of the World. I found it especially interesting to read about how the color palette was chosen.       This message was intended for subscribers of the GameInformer Online Newsletter only.
