[HereÂ’s Why Metro Exodus DoesnÂ’t Have Multiplayer](
by Javy Gwaltney
Metro has always been a single-player narrative-driven experience, but the gamesÂ’ universe does seem like itÂ’s ripe for expansion into other genres and modes. The claustrophobic setting and the emphasis on firefights against both bandits and monsters make it seem like a great co-op experience could be crafted for that universe. During our visit to the 4A Games, we asked them if the team had considered creating a multiplayer Metro experience.

[Metal Gear: Survive Review – Stripping A Solid Series For Parts](
by Suriel Vazquez
Metal Gear Survive is the first entry since Konami and series creator Hideo KojimaÂ’s contentious split, and it shows. It features a non-canon, spin-off story and veers away from its stealth roots in favor of a survivalist approach. But while that might sound like heresy to fans, the most damning thing about Survive is how it squanders its own promise. It buries Metal Gear Solid VÂ’s fantastic core mechanics beneath an abysmal campaign, skewed survival systems, and a tedious grind for resources.

[Kingdom Come Deliverance Review – A Noble Quest In Need Of Divine Intervention](
by Jeff Marchiafava
Despite offering an endless tapestry of intriguing tales to draw from, the events of history remain criminally ignored by video games. Sure, exotic locations like ancient Egypt and decades-old wars occasionally serve as flashy backdrops for modern action, but too few games try to convey what life was really like in a historical time and place. Kingdom Come: Deliverance eschews the fantasy tropes of other open-world RPGs in favor of the real-life characters and conflicts of 15th century Bohemia. Unfortunately, the engrossing feudal adventure awaiting players is brought to its knees by a needlessly restrictive save system and a litany of game-breaking bugs.
[Into The Breach Review – Pulling Back The Layers](
by Matt Miller
Simplicity and elegance go hand in hand in many mediums, and Into the Breach demonstrates that the same can apply for game design. After the remarkable success of FTL, Subset Games has crafted a follow-up that maintains the same structural progression and addictive replayability, but tacks away toward a fascinating hybrid of turn-based tactics and puzzle gameplay. The result is a cleaner and tighter game than FTL, and one that is more fun, strategically complex, and consistently rewarding.
[Where The Water Tastes Like Wine Review – A Soulful Journey Through America](
by Elise Favis
Wandering through the countryside, you hear whispers of devastation, unemployment, and dust storms that ravage people's homes. Other moments bring you courage in your tired journey, as you listen to a worker's hopeful song or watch hundreds of butterflies flutter overhead. Whether they're tragic, surreal, or humorous, each of these occasions are just as captivating as the next as you watch them grow into fantastical tales told around a campfire.

[The Therapeutic Effects Of Gaming](
Â
Prince of Snark Euphoric Ennui I writes about how gaming can improve lives. He breaks it down into different disabilities, and explains what games are available for people to play, and how certain games can help. The University of Wisconsin-Madison even had a team that developed a Wii game to "help children with autism improve their balance." It worked.
[3 Things I Like About Dishonored 2](
The Dishonored series is an absolute blast, and it is nice to see it make a return to the blogosphere thanks to Timothy Repasky. Here he writes about three key things the game does well. Of course, the amount of choice available is one of those things, and I couldn't agree more with this blog.
[Remakes And Remasters: 2018 Edition](
TrentDF doesn't write about the state of remakes, just that there have been a lot of them in 2017. And he wants more. Here he makes the case for five games to get remakes, including Bushido Blade, a Spyro trilogy like the Crash Bandicoot remake, and even Twisted Metal. I'm down.
