I've been out of touch for a while. Here's why... [image] Hey Friend, Today I'm wearing my coaching hat and more importantly my mom hat. I don't often get personal in my emails, but today I wanted you to have this information from my daughter and I'll tell you why... I was out of the office for the last several weeks, spending a lot of time at the hospital with my daughter (when you read her email below she will tell you more). It gave me a lot of time to think about my life as a trader and coach and wanted to share some thoughts with you…. As traders, we have to treat our trading as a business and since most traders are in the business as a "solopreneur" part of treating trading as a business is making sure we are personally in a state of peak performance. In order to achieve that state we must pay attention to our physical health, our focus, and our mindset. This blog from my daughter covers the physical health aspect. She has a disability (and she will be the first to say, ‘I have “a” disability but how many abilities do I have?!!’) and so while her blog is tailored to those with disabilities, the information and the recipes are fantastic for anyone. Especially traders who want to stay healthy in order to achieve better trade results. I am very proud of my daughter and I am with her 1,000% in her recovery. Please share this email and follow Jackie so you can continue to receive wonderful content from a fabulous, authentic dietitian. If you would like to be on her list to receive her healthy recipes and blogs, [please sign up here.]( Happy trading, Jody Samuels Hey Friend, Happy Fall! I hope your October is off to a good start. It’s been beautiful seeing the leaves change colours this season, that’s always my favourite part of Fall (and making all things pumpkin!). I was out of the office for the past 6 weeks (which is why you didn’t hear from me in September) – the past couple of months have been extremely difficult to say the least. I had a bad fall and fractured my left leg (which is the leg that I have the medical condition in) while on vacation. I had surgery and spent a lot of time in rehab but am now home and very ready to work again (at a slower pace). These are the realities of living with a chronic medical condition and I’m sure many of you can relate. There are lots of ups and downs. I’ve decided to share this because I believe in being authentic and I want to show people how you can still take care of yourself while recovering from a serious injury. For me that means getting lots of sleep, doing what I can to exercise (I’ve been doing walks in my home with my walker, short arm cycle and upper body weight workouts and some gentle chair yoga), and eating healthy to promote bone healing (lots of extra protein and calcium-rich foods). Before my medical hiatus, I got a chance to feature as a guest on a podcast by Marie-Pier from [The Balanced Practice](. I had a blast chatting with her about how disability can impact body image; a very taboo topic. [Check out the podcast]( and let me know what you think! [image]( It’s only been a few days since I returned to the office, but I’ve been really enjoying supporting 1:1 clients and working on my business again. I have a lot of exciting things in store, including some cool blog posts for you, so stay tuned! I love the Fall time because I get to pull out my favourite pumpkin recipes. And that’s exactly why I wrote this blog post about [20 Vegan Recipes with Pumpkin](! I made sure to include a variety of recipes for breakfast, snacks, meals, and dessert, so go check it out and let me know which one you want to try out at home! [image]( To finish off, I want to share with you a couple of my recipes that are perfect for all year round: [Greek Yogurt Protein Barks]( and [Yogurt Peanut Butter Cup Smoothie](. Both of these recipes are quick, easy to make, and super nutritious! Make sure to send me a DM on [Instagram]( if you try out any of these recipes – I would love to see a picture of how they turned out! As always, reach out to me if there’s anything I can do to help you achieve a healthier lifestyle by [hitting reply to this email](mailto:jackiesilvernutrition@gmail.com) and letting me know: - What would you like to see next on my blog? - What are your biggest challenges to healthy living? Enjoy the rest of October! P.S If you have any questions about nutrition or healthy living and want to take your health to the next level, make sure to [book a free discovery call with me](!
