{NAME}, We'd like to let you know about the [first in a series of articles]( we're running on the Frontier Bushcraft blog. One thing we've noticed amongst the team here at Frontier is that everyone has their own particular preference of sheath knife. No-one on the team uses the same knife as anyone else on the team. Sure, there are similarities and common features. But it makes sense that no one size, shape or style of knife fits all, particularly amongst a group of people who range from 5ft 1in females to 6ft 6in males. There are basic tasks that all of our knives need to accomplish. Beyond this, what we demand from our knives depends on what we spend more time on - carving or butchery for example - and whether we generally carry other tools or just one knife, as well as how remotely we travel. All of these factors and more come into the decision of which knife we choose. And that's what this series of articles is about. Different members of the Frontier Bushcraft instructional team will take it in turns to showcase their primary knife and explain the rationale of why it works for them. The point is not to imply you have to use a particular knife, or that you shouldn't be using the knife you already use. Rather it is to give you an insight into why our team use particular knives, to discuss pros and cons of different designs as well as help the inexperienced move away from choosing a knife based on looks to choosing a knife based on a more objective view of what the user needs and which design, or features will help meet those needs. Read the first such article from Stuart Dart, where he [discusses his Kellam Wolverine here](. Enjoy the rest of your week.
