Republican support of voter suppression goes straight to the top with President Trump. {NAME} -- I'm working late to get this email out, because this is important. The furor over voting by mail in light of COVID-19 might be the most hypocritical thing I've ever seen in my time in politics. And I've seen a lot working in Georgia politics... Speaking to the media, President Trump blasted voting by mail again yesterday. Then, a reporter had the courage to speak up and point out the obvious... President Trump also votes by mail. President Trump: "I think mail-in voting is horrible, it's corrupt." Reporter: "You voted by mail in Florida's election last month, didn't you?" Trump: "Sure. I can vote by mail" Reporter: "How do you reconcile with that?" Trump: "Because I'm allowed to." This is why all of the work our campaign continues to do (just digitally, instead of in person) to register new voters, make sure folks turn out in primary elections, and advocate for voting by mail in the face of a pandemic needs to be done -- now more than ever. Elections have consequences: As we saw yesterday in Wisconsin and DC, some of the leaders we've currently elected care more about holding on to power than the safety of voters in 2020 during a pandemic. Simply put, we need to make sure that every voter who wants to participate can safely cast their ballot in the upcoming primary election in Georgia and all around the country in states that haven't voted yet. And we need a plan for November's election, where we're expecting record-breaking turnout, so that folks can safely cast their ballots. It could mean the difference between Lucy winning re-election and losing her seat in Congress, with how close this race is forecast to be. Thanks for reading and for your support. -- Jake Orvis Campaign Manager Lucy McBath for Congress COVID-19 has completely changed our campaign and put a much heavier emphasis on digital fundraising.
