Hi {NAME} — this week has been more disheartening than most. As a nation, we were rocked by two more mass shootings, and the National Republican Party immediately resulted to attacking gun safety advocates like me [on social media]( accusing us of “politicizing” tragedies. They're accusing me of trying to "make a quick buck" off of mass shootings. So, if you'd be willing to "chip in a quick buck" to help me keep fighting -- it would show the National Republican Party that we refuse to stand by and do nothing. Here's the best link: [secure.actblue.com/donate/support-lucy](. I certainly didn't ask to become a gun violence prevention advocate. My son was shot and killed in a hate fueled crime in 2012, the same kind as the violence in El Paso. When I spoke up about it, the National Republican Party cynically began to try and tear me down by defaming my character, because they know they can't rely on evidence-based facts to win an argument about gun safety. [I would so deeply appreciate any amount of support you can provide](. Together, we can and we will win the fight to end gun violence.
