{NAME} -- You probably saw the news. Twenty-five male state senators voted for a complete and total abortion ban in Alabama. And then yesterday evening, Governor Kay Ivey signed the bill into law. All day long, my social media feeds were blowing up with messages from women (and men!) across the country. Messages of dismay, in disbelief, in agony, and from brave women who were sharing stories about how legal access to safe and affordable abortion services had changed the trajectory of their lives. We deserve the right to choose. Roe v. Wade is still the law of the land. But with states like Georgia, and now Alabama, and soon Missouri and Louisiana passing these Abortion ban bills, Republicans are trying to change all of that, and eventually overturn Roe v. Wade in the courts. We can't let that happen, {NAME}. And what's especially insidious is the way the new Alabama law targets healthcare providers: Any doctor caught performing an abortion could be sentenced to up to 99 years in prison. Throwing doctors in jail for performing abortions... now hold on a minute -- why does that sound familiar? It's because in 2017, our opponent --- former Rep. Karen Handel -- voted to enact the exact same legislation targeting doctors in Congress. It was a critical issue in our 2018 campaign, and Georgia's 6th district elected a pro-choice advocate (that's me!), instead of a longtime anti-choice movement leader. Let there be no doubt about it -- Karen Handel has a lengthy public record of trying to impose her anti-choice views on Georgians, and Americans. [So, will you chip in a donation today to help me defeat Handel again in 2020, and keep her anti-choice ideology out of women's personal healthcare decisions?]( If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [Express Donate: $6]( [Express Donate: $20.20]( [Express Donate: $50]( [Express Donate: $100]( [Express Donate: $250]( [Or, donate another amount]( Thanks for taking a stand for women in this critical moment.
