{NAME}, We’re Freedom to Learn Advocates PAC, and we are working to become the preeminent grassroots organization dedicated to fighting the right-wing’s effort to ban books, and censor librarians and teachers that don’t subscribe to their narrow world view. According to National Geographic, “between July 1, 2021 and March 31, 2022 alone, there were 1,586 book bans in 86 school districts across 26 states—affecting more than two million students.” Librarians and educators across the country are being attacked by shadowy groups that are funding right wing so-called “grassroots” efforts to ban books. These groups want to impose a draconian agenda on our communities by deciding what books are in our libraries and schools. Our mission is to resist these groups. And we need your help. If you’re angry at these right wing attempts to censor important perspectives and tell parents what their children can and can’t read, now’s your chance to join us, and do something to fight back! [Sign our petition calling on Congress to take immediate action to reject book banning in America!]( The urgency to stop book banning is at an all-time high. [In Congress,]( there are already six proposed bills that restrict the accurate teaching of history, ban certain books in schools and libraries, and further attempt to handicap teachers’ ability to educate their students on topics of race, racism, gender, sexism, or sexuality. [At the state level,]( twenty-nine states have introduced restrictive bills or taken other steps to ban or restrict what they deem to be “dangerous” literature, joining thirteen other states that have already enacted such bans! [We won’t stand idly by while these groups work to ban books across the country. Join us, and demand that Congress take immediate action to defend teachers and libraries from these ultra right-wing attacks.]( [Will you join our effort by signing our petition to call on Congress to take immediate action against book banning in America?
